The Offer
- American Express is currently offering 50,000 Membership Rewards points after $1,000 on spend on the personal version of their Premier Rewards Gold Card.
Getting this offer to appear can be a bit tricky, you’ll need to use the following link: https://www304.americanexpress.com/credit-card/premier-rewards-gold/25330Â and keep opening new windows until it appears. I was able to get it to appear using internet explorer, but just keep using different browsers and incognito mode until it shows up.
The same thing happened with the business version of this card, but the maximum bonus is 75,000 points. I spent 30 minutes opening new windows and browsers trying to get a 75,000 offer on the personal version to appear but i was unable to.
The Fine Print
- If you are identified as a current or former American Express Card Member, this offer may not be available to you
- Annual fee of $175 is waived for the first year
- Earns at the following rates:
- 3x points on airfares
- 2x points at supermarkets and U.S gas stations
- 1x points everywhere else
Our Verdict
You can only get each American Express personal bonus once, so it’s up to you to decide if you think this bonus will go higher or this is the best it’ll get. I’m personally going to hold out for a 75,000 point bonus on this card as I think they need to up the bonus to compete with their own EveryDay cards.
It’s great that the minimum spend on this cards is only $1,000 as most people should be able to hit that with just their regular spend. I imagine if a higher 75,000 point offer does come available it will have a minimum spend of at least $3,000 but more likely to be $5,000.

Big thanks to reader Kurt, if you find any deals like this please contact me
just bought a new laptop, go into microsoft edge, incognito, got 50,000 first try
Interestingly, the link was showing 50k for the longest time, but as my credit history is super short I was waiting until today to apply, When I got on, the offer had gone back down to 25k! Tried all my browsers, all private modes, school computer, friend’s computer, VPN, etc etc but nothing could get me the offer back. Wondering if it has died.
Worked for me as of Aug 7, 2015.
Kind of wonder if I should have waited for it to go up to 75k. There’s some speculation that Amex will pump some money into marketing in the near future, if they end up selling their Costco books.
I currently hold Amex Gold Business card for which I got 75k points among other amex cards. Never had personal Gold, would I be excluded? Thanks .
Nope, they are different products.
I currently hold the amex plat. and am about to cancel. Am I right to assume that I wouldn’t be eligible for this bonus even after I cancel my plat?
They are considered different products so you should be fine.
Thanks for the quick response and the the link on credit pulls which is fantastic (i’ve bookmarked it!).
I went ahead and applied for the PRG and was instantly approved (my 1st Amex personal card, yay!).
As a data point, i used the link on my PC (using Chrome incog) but it showed up only 25k. The same result when i tried on my mac, both Safari & Chrome (when i tried chrome it stated that i am existing card member thus not eligible!). Luckily when i tried on my wife’s PC using Chrome incog, it worked. Dont know what was the difference.
You’re more than welcome, I’m glad it was helpful. To be honest in terms of getting the 50k link to show it seems completely random, you just gotta keep on trying until it shows! Thanks for reading the site and I hope you’ll share it around.
I just got approved today for the BRG 75k after calling in. If i apply for this 50k PRG card now , will there be a new additional hard pull or just 1 pull for both apps? Or do i need to wait for 4-5 days before applying for the PRG. I know one is business card and the other is personal card but i am finding mixed and inconclusive data points on whether it results in 1 or 2 pulls. Until today, i’ve never had any Amex cards.
As long as they are all approved in the same day, you should be fine. More information here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/card-issuers-that-combine-multiple-credit-pullsinquiries/#American_Express
Do you know if you are excluded from the bonus if you are just an authorized user on an AmEx Gold card?
No you wouldn’t be.
I had this card 3 years back. Does it mean that I will not get bonus for this card anymore?
I couldn’t get the offer to load at home on either my iPad or laptop even after switching browsers and opening multiple windows. I tried it on my work computer this morning with Explorer and the offer appeared. Approved in seconds.
ps: I am relatively new to following your blog, but already find it much more useful than leading competitors’ sites
Thanks for the kind words and glad you could find the offer in the end. Make sure you spread the love so others can find this site as well!
