On ocassion American Express sends out gift cards to Platinum cardholders as part of the #amexappreciates program. Some cardholders have received a $100 giftcard for Charles Tyrwhitt. I honestly have no idea how American Express chooses who gets these gifts and who doesn’t, for example you have some cardholders that spend $100,000+ annually that get them and others that spend $0 annually that get them.

I have 11 active Amex cards…..got nothing. Working on Plat biz sign up bonus, so I do spend a fair amount on their cards, but I’m not a billionaire. From what I understand, LOCATION is a big factor. Living in a small town in the midwest, there are zero “trendy shops” or “massage apps.”

Ironic…when I was young, I thought amex cards were for upper class people…but now they’re sending out gift cards for overpriced, crappy quality shirts. How sad.
The quality is decent from my experience. Please feel free to suggest some non-overpriced, excellent quality shirt retailers.
Check out Mizzen & Main. Shirts are $125 each, but they last forever. I used to get 1 good year out of standard cotton dress shirts priced similarly priced similarly before the elbows blew out. I’ve had some Mizzen shirts for over 3 years now and they still look perfect
Pricey at $125! And limited colors. I def have CT shirts that are at least 3-4 years old and going strong. At $25 – $29 a pop when on sale, makes more sense for me. Cut is good too compared to many other brands. Mizzen does look nice though
I’ve been using Lands End dress shirts for 30+ years. They’re functional, tough, and good value IF you can fit into their somewhat boxy sizing. I used to get custom made shirts when I was younger (I have an odd shape) but eventually just shifted to these since the price/value was so good. I acknowledge that fashionistas may not like them. I mostly just want white/pink/french blue solid color Oxford button downs.

Polo shirts. I think they sometimes have sales where two costs $99.
They usually have dress sweaters you can get 2 for $100, also their shirts are often 3 for $99.
they have some of the best non iron dress shirts out there, often run 3 for $100 deals
