American Express Shares Centurion Lounge Opening Dates

American Express has shared updated opening dates for a number of Centurion lounges. They are as follows:

  • Phoenix: November 2019
  • London, Heathrow: First half of 2020
  • New York, JFK: First half of 2020
  • Los Angeles, Charlotte & Denver: Sometime in 2020

These aren’t exactly exact dates and American Express Centurion lounges aren’t exactly known for keeping to schedule, but this should give travelers some idea if these lounges will be open when they are planning to travel. For more Centurion news and updates click here.

I really want to see the broom closet at LAX that they’re gonna try to convert into a lounge.

I hope the LAX one is accessible when flying AA as their flights to/from Hawaii seems to connect there a lot. Otherwise, I won’t ever fly AA.

The DEN lounge will be closer to 2021. The location of the CL is in the expansion project for Concourse C. Construction of the expansion project has not begun.

Pretty sure it’s not in the expansion, and I’m pretty sure expansion has already begun.

Its right above the Spirit gates on C, not the expansion beyond the Spirit gates.

As noted by others, this is incorrect. The CL is progressing, even if slowly. It is not in an as yet constructed portion of the building. I am surprised it will take until 2020, as per DoC – perhaps more disappointed than surprised.

How is there still no decent lounge at ORD???

It may be another 5 years or give or take. ORD has been inking some deals for renovations so they’re probably going to save everything for that before they do smaller things. They’re finishing up the parking lot transit system to the terminals so I’d imagine the airport’s next.

I flew to DCA from Armenia, Vienna and ORD yesterday. The only stop without Priority Pass or AMEX access was ORD (terminal 1). ORD needs to get its act together. I had to fight to pay for a glass of wine that cost $18.73 near C-1.
