Update 8/6/20: This is now live (Blue Business Plus | Blue Business Cash). Looks like the $300 credits are the sign up bonus and can not be stacked with a referral signup bonus. Referrals still show the old 10,000 points bonus. Referral links are now showing the $300 offer as well; this is now the signup bonus across all channels.
Original Post:
From August 6th through November 4th, those who sign up for a new American Express Blue Business Plus or Blue Business Cash card will receive up to $300 in statement credits to offset purchases, as follows:
- $100 for purchases made at Dell
- $100 for purchases made at FedEx
- $100 for purchases made at DocuSign
These credits are for new cardholders only who signup between August 6th and November 4th, though the expiration date for using the credit will be even longer. Also note, you can use these credits in a single purchase or across multiple smaller transactions at each of these merchants.
News of the impending offer was told by the American Express press team to our friends over at FrequentMiler. It’s interesting that the information of this signup bonus was sent out for public consumption before it actually goes live.
The DocuSign credit will probably be of no use to most of us. The FedEx credit will be valuable to some and worth little to others. The Dell credit will have medium-to-high value to most of us.
The big question mark here is whether these credits will stack with existing signup bonuses or referral offers. The way the information was sent out makes it sound like a credit – similar to credits on other AmEx cards – just limited to new cardholders. That makes me optimistic that these will work for those who sign up via referral links or other sign up links too.
Overall, if these credits can not be stacked with the referral offer, it’s not really of much use you’ll likely get more value from a regular signup offer (10,000 points via referral for Blue Business Plus; $500 offer on Blue Business Cash). If these credits can be stacked – my hunch – that would make it a real sweetener and a good time to sign up soon.
Just wait until these offers go live to sign up since the credits will only work for those who sign up between August 6th and November 4th.
Hat tip again to Frequentmiler

Blue Business Cash is showing as Pre-approved when logged in to my account along the right side of the page under “Useful Links”. The offer is for $200 cash back with $5,000 spend in 3 months. Not overly exciting compared to the prior $500 offer. Personally, I’ll be waiting until this current “credits” promo ends to see what gets offered next.
Full terms can be found here: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/campaigns/small-business/credit-cards/blue-business-cash/pre-approved-offer.html
Interesting. Offer erroring out for me.
Chuck I’m still getting that pre-approved offer when logged into my account, but now for $300 cash back, instead of the $200 (same 3 month- $5,000 spend terms). That same link on my computer brings up a $300 cash back bonus, but using it on my phone brings up the $200 bonus I mentioned in the prior comment. I’ll probably be waiting until next month to see what the new offer goes to once the credits offer ends so I can let a family member get a referral bonus. If someone doesn’t have someone to refer them though, then this seems like a decent offer for those pre-approved as the old one required $10k more spend for an extra $200.
Lifetime language?
I don’t see it mentioned on the landing page or offer terms page. You should be able to see the terms at the link: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/card-application/apply/bluebusinesscash-credit-card/57970-104-1-WOCGDHC017#/
You’ll likely need to be logged out to pull up that page. When I log in with my account to apply at that page the offer is still visible, but if I log in with a family member’s account that isn’t pre-approved it errors out that the offer isn’t available.
I applied and was approved Jun 30.
Can I request the credit be matched?
Any luck with Amex for this (will go look at the amex tab as well)
BBC (with referral) went from $500 cash to $300 credit. Such a bummer! I can’t wait for it to end soon.
My referral link for the BBP still shows 10,000 points.
Umm if it’s still the case, Chuck William Charles get Don’s link out to the other readers before it gets shut down.
Anyone getting approved for a fifth Amex credit card?
This turned out to a bad news!
By the way, one of my BBP referral links is still showing 10k MR, while most other have become up to $300.
The links on referrals page aren’t working anymore. My referral shows only the $300 credits offer.
Which referrals page? Thanks.
I cannot imagine that Amex would have a MR SUB in addition to the $100 credits at Dell, FedEx, and Docusign SUB.
Looks like it’s only the credits right now as the SUB. I tried incognito and via referral in incognito and could only get the $300 credits offer to show up.
Welp, just opened a BPP 8/1. Here’s to hoping they either stack or match with 10k offer
I’ll save you the time and effort. They won’t.
