• You can currently receive a 30% transfer bonus when you transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Hilton Honors points. Normally you can transfer 1,000 MR points and receive 2,000 Hilton Honors pointss, during this promotion you’ll receive 2,600 Hilton instead (1:2.6)
• Some people are even seeing a transfer bonus of 50%, making it 1:3

Our Verdict

American Express traditionally hasn’t offered transfer bonuses on Hilton before, previous deals are as follows:

• January 2nd, 2018: Transfer rate increased permanently from 1:1.5 to 1:2
• October 24th – December 15th, 2017: 33% transfer bonus

Targeted promotions:

• October 16th – November 30th, 2014: 33% bonus (going from a rate of 1:1.5 to a rate of 1:2)
• December 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013, 2013: 33% bonus (going from a rate of 1:1.5 to a rate of 1:2)

Given that the base rate was increased in January of this year this is the highest transfer rate we’ve ever seen. American Express also has these other current transfer bonuses:

• American Express Transfer Bonus: 40% To British Airways/Iberia Avios (1:1.4). Valid until November 15th

In terms of how good this deal is it will really depend on how you value Hilton points and Membership Rewards points, I personally wouldn’t transfer unless I had a specific redemption in mind and even then it might make sense to get one of the increased offers on one of the Hilton cards instead:

I always get nervous about devaluations when this type of flood of points is on offer. With Hilton it’s even worse as they don’t publish award charts anymore.
