I don’t think it’s worth transferring to Hilton as Membership Rewards are so much more valuable than Hilton points even with the transfer bonus.  You can find more transfer bonuses here.
This transfer bonus is back until 4/30/23 William Charles Chuck
idk if it is public or targeted, but I just saw it on my account.
That should become the regular rate. Hilton has devalued points all across the board in the US and abroad. I’ve seen increases of 5,000-10,000 a night at properties that have been the same for years. I’ve traditionally valued Hilton points at 0.5 cents each but more and more I’m seeing a move towards a 0.3-0.4 cent value.
Hilton has really jacked up their award prices the last year. I used to gin up points with supermarket spend on some of the AMEX cards, but I’ve focused my attention elsewhere these days. Hyatt is far more generous for high end properties, and the IHG program is much better for ordinary stays at Holiday Inn Expresses and such. I’d value a Hilton point at slightly less than 4/10ths of a cent, so no reason to convert on this promo unless you have a very specific redemption in mind.
hoping for a marriott transfer bonus sometime soon!
I remember a 1:3 promo (50% bonus) a couple years ago, but it looks like that won’t be coming back and I might budge and do this one instead
My estimate this is worth about 1.2 cents/MR points.
Hilton points to me are usually valued at 0.46 cents/point.
I believe Amex used to give 40% bonus for Hilton.
This deal is no better than 20% bonus on gift cards deal if I can get Home Depot GCs 20% off.
What is the best redemption points for Amex?
based on cash values, the answer tends to be business and first class tickets abroad.
but really, you should value things on how much value you get from them. Imho, especially if you’re not looking for something splurge worthy, it’s better to turn 100k points into something that saves you 1.2-1.4 cents per point than something that gives 1.8-2.4 cents per point (cash value) where you actually think you wouldn’t pay half the cash value (bringing those redemptions down to 0.9-1.2 CPP.
Last point, biz/1st class tickets can certainly earn >4.0 CPP as far as cash values go, and often so. But that also takes time to find, and space can be limited.
Agreed. CPP isn’t always a good indicator since if you are fine with flying econ, does it really matter if you are booking a FC ticket and getting 4 CPP? These days, I am more focused on offsetting my cash outlay instead since I have a large reservoir of miles and points. This promo could be worth doing if you have a specific use in mind, especially if you take advantage of 5th night free and if you think about taxes and fees that paid bookings incur.
With this promo I was able to transfer 75k MRs to Hilton to get two nights at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. $2,400 cash value (3.2 CPP).
That’s awesome for Hilton. If I get 0.5¢ pp I’m happy.
There is also Virgin Atlantic transfer bonus of 30%.
