Not sure if showing for everybody or only for some.
Was considering this as the deal is expiring in 2 days. But I checked the reward flights on BA website and found the required points and surcharge way higher than what AA charges. Too bad I cannot transfer my MR points to AA.
The fees for a one way flight alone would be $100+ more and the number of miles 13% more.
I’ve been racking up these BA miles by transferring from AMEX over the past few years. What’s availability and booking like for American flights with BA Avios? Anyone with experience – good or bad – that is willing to share? Thanks!
I made two transfer three days ago. One is 20k points and second one is 1k point. The 1k point arrived my BA account after 30mins. And the 20K points still not arrived at my BA account after 3 days.
How long does the transfer take? I read that the transfer is instantaneous. Does that mean a couple of hours, a day or couple of days?
PS I read instantaneous to mean instantaneous. I transferred an hour ago. No points yet. I am officially categorized as impatient!
Still waiting for the transfer. 10 hours
I’m getting close to 24 hours now and still waiting. Chatted with Amex, they asked to give it 24-48 hours. Might be related to ongoing issues Amex has been having recently.
The original transfer is still missing after 27 hours. I transferred some small amounts. One third of the new transfers have not arrived yet.
Most likely your information between the BA and Amex accounts didn’t line up and so the points are stuck in limbo. It should eventually fail and get returned back to you, but in the worst case, it might have already ended up in someone else’s BA account.
I am still waiting after 48 hours. Will call amex.
did you receive the points?
I see it in mine. Have sat on BA Avios for years… Not easy to use outside of flying BA and eating their awful fees.
there’s also a 25% bonus for bonvoy, exp 5/31.
Showing up for me!
Domestic AA availability on BA is hard to find these days.
That’s because AA has been inflating prices and BA availability is only there when AA has the cheaper prices…but yeah, it sucks. Hit or miss, but I blame it on AA, not BA.
Hmm looks to be targeted, don’t see it on my end. Schwab Plat, Gold, and BBP holder.
been waiting!
