The Offer
Some people are seeing the following $300 signup offer on the Blue Cash Everyday card:
- For each of your first 6 calendar months as a cardholder, get a $50 statement credit when spending $500
All told, you’ll get $300 after spending $3,000 with this monthly regime. You get one month of leeway so if you miss one of the first 6 months, you can make it up in the 7th calendar month.
Card Details
- No annual fee
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 3% cash back at U.S. supermarkets (up to $6,000 in spend annually, then 1%)
- 1% back on all other purchases
- You can only get the sign up bonus on American Express cards once
Our Verdict
A couple of readers mentioned seeing this offer incognito. You can read more about how to get targeted for incognito offers here. (Hat tip to @VM4827 for the screenshot.) I wasn’t able to get it with a simple incognito search, but the more advanced methods might work and certain areas or IPs might see this targeted.
In the past, we’ve seen $450 incognito offers, but they were really $250 bonuses + 10% back at a specific places like restaurants or wireless or Amazon so this cash offer isn’t bad. $300 is the best cash bonus we’ve seen, though it does require the hassle of meeting the monthly $500 spend requirement.
Make sure you read through these things everybody should know about American Express before applying.
Usual referral bonus on this card is $75 and for referee it is $200 after $1000 spend. Yesterday, I received paper mail which had a different referral link and the bonus offer is $250 after $1000 spend. I Can share the link if some one is interested.
Back in April, I checked the Amex website for personalized offers and applied for the BCE with a $250 statement credit upon $1,000 spend in first 3 months. Per their terms, I should have received the credit 6-8 weeks after hitting the $1,000. Amazingly, it’s been almost 16 weeks. I contacted them 3 times, each time the response being that they are working on it and to be patient. I filed a CFPB complaint last week and they just responded acknowledging my application was associated with the offer. In addition, they stated:
“We have identified an issue which, regrettably, may have impacted your account. We have record of your contacting us July 20, 2017, August 2, 2017, and on August 28, 2017. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience. You will receive separate notification about this issue and appropriate remediation once it has been resolved, if you are eligible for the bonus.”
Has anyone else experienced anything like this with Amex? What steps, if any, should I take next?
After googling some of the language in my letter from Amex, it seems I’m not the only one experiencing issues.

I can’t seem to get the $300 offer to show up. Should I call them and ask for the $300 sign up bonus?
Doubtful that will work. Not sure if this offer is still around or not.
I used incognito mode but only saw the $150 offer. Any suggestions?
I downgraded from blue cash preferred to blue cash everyday 3 years ago and closed the account 1 year ago. Am I qualified for the bonus if i apply for this one? Since I’ve never had a open bonus for this card. Thanks.
Probably not https://www.doctorofcredit.com/getting-signup-bonus-second-previously-no-bonus/
Is the $300 bonus is only for the first year?
Yes
I saw this, but took the $250 offer instead. For me, $50 wasn’t worth an additional 2k min spend
Ugh, just applied for this a few days ago under the $250 offer. Live and learn I guess.
I think this is not as good as the old ($250 + $200 offer) . Am I missing something?
Those offers was better for a lot of people.
I applied and was approved for this card April 27. Any chance I can get them to match the offer?
Might be possible https://www.doctorofcredit.com/which-credit-card-issuers-will-match-a-higher-signup-bonus/#American_Express
For what it’s worth, I’ve had very bad luck trying to get matched with Amex. Even when I had a targeted mailer with an RSVP code.
