Let us know what else we are missing.
I don’t see a 2023 thread for the Chase offer so I will just post here. Sadly, they learned from their mistake nad this year’s offers from Chase and Citi have a $25 minimum purchase requirement and it’s only $5 back. That may not even work for the state e-file fee unless it’s taxable. And it definitely doesn’t work for the Fidelity $5 Premier download for qualifying users (see separate thread). That one was great last year when the offer was $10 back with no minimum.
Cash App has been mentioned as a free option and there are three others. Freetaxusa is free if using IRS free file and income under 46K – otherwise state filing is $15. Olt.com is free if using IRS free file and income under 73K – otherwise state filing is $10. Myfreetaxes.com redirects you to a free full version of TaxSlayer if income under 73K – otherwise redirects to Cash App.
I have not used TaxSlayer but have used the other three. Olt.com is probably the least user friendly but they support more tax situations than the others. Choosing between Cash App and Freetaxusa is personal preference and the choice might be dictated by having a rare unsupported tax situation.
I received a BofA offer for 30% off TaxAct, inline with the Amex offer
Thanks, I have the offer on my Citi double cash card.
Do yourself a favor check out free tax usa. Little bit less fancy than tt but covers a lot of ground esp considering the price. And by skipping turbotax you make sure they go to hell with its upsales.
If you buy the digital version off Amazon, it triggered dropps kindle purchase category for me. It is currently boosted to $8 back right now.
I used Cash App Taxes last year to file fed and state for free and LOVED it. Formerly Credit Karma Taxes. Looks like it is available again for this year. You need to have the Cash app on your phone.

I used the free CK version two years ago, and they switched to the CashApp stuff last year (not great, they forced you to install their app and crap), but it was free and it worked.
Problem now is they don’t handle multiple state returns.

You consider adjusting the title of the post to include free tax services. A thought….
Target will be running a Turbotax sale starting from tomorrow. But I decided to stick with the online version after doing some research.
Last year I used Cash App Taxes, and it worked great… this year i’m a little concerned since I’ve been using a robo-investor. Hope that my taxes won’t too complicated.
It seems getting TurboTax from Amazon is less expensive than buying direct and getting a couple discounts.
