Update 1/10/21: readers note that with this offer the fine print seems to really be enforced – you need to make an ordinary purchase from the site without attaching any portals, promos, etc. If you do, the AmEx credit might not post. See this comment for further analysis.

First time i used portal to place order, amex coded as ‘HEMISPEREP-WINEINSIDR’, no email, I quickly called and cancelled my order.
Second time without portal, coded as ‘HEMISPHERE-WINE INSIDERS’ and received amex email after 20 mins.
I did not use any promocode, order of 6 bottles has free shipping without any promo.
For those procrastinating like me, I was able to get free shipping on 6 bottles, apply the “DAD40” promo code, and get 6 bottles for about $45 and instantly get the confirmation of offer applied from Amex
They are selling $3 wines for $10, so don’t expect your discount to really mean anything. Just buy basic stuff at your grocery store – this is the same stuff, just marked up and ‘discounted’. At one point when the promotion started they had some $7 wines which I suppose meant one could have gotten a six pack for close to free, or maybe a couple bucks a bottle. but once the amex hordes arrived they quickly jacked up prices.
I opened an incognito window to Wine Insiders, clicked the “Shop All Wine” category from the menu at the top to avoid any accidental exploration into “promotion/collection” pages, picked six wines, logged into my Wine Insiders account while checking out, put in today’s discount code “DAY7”, used CC that had the AMEX offer on it. Before completing the order, I clicked back to the home page to see if there was a green “Promotion applied” banner as someone below pointed out, but there was a blue “Discount applied” banner instead. Figured that was fine, so I went through with the purchase and got the AMEX offer confirmation email right afterwards.
mmm…I followed your steps but didn’t get the Amex offer confirmation email. Finger cross to hope I can get that credit soon.
Just to confirm that I received my $30 credit! I got 6 wines with free shipping and using the site promo code.
Tried this today but used another code that is on their home page – California wines at 7.99/bottle and I got the Amex confirmation email immediately afterwards. Thanks.
The Wine Insiders people are aware of some issues with the way some purchases are coded and they’ll quickly correct any problems.
My offer terms no longer say anything about the “promotions” or “collections” subdirectories being excluded.
Any update on the Optio?
DO NOT PURCHASE 6 BOTTLES FOR FREE SHIPPING! Wine Insiders will code your purchase as having used a promotion and Amex will not credit you the $30. I just wasted an hour debating this with Amex and they will not budge.
Has anyone used this to load $30 onto Slide App with paypal? Seems like it would be a good way to bank this credit for later use.
I was thinking of ordering the subscription for $89, at $30 off that’s $59 for 15 wines… however I’m worried with all the trouble here this may not qualify for some reason since it’s a special intro price. Any way for me to find out other than just trying?
I did the subscription on my Gold card offer was $25 back on spend of $60 or more. Went through fine, same fine print language as on the $30 for $30 on the plat.
Womp. Ordered a full box for $96.40 to take advantage of a Swagbucks deal too, and Amex wont honor it because the box included free shipping. Agreed – they are very strict with the fine print on these
How do you know AMEX won’t honor it? Have you checked your offer savings section? It just takes some time for the credit to post.
Talked to a representative. They do not allow ANY offers through wineinsiders. All coupons or discounts or free shipping must be denied, otherwise the purchase gets marked as promotional and AMEX wont honor it.
