The Fine Print

- An”eligible purchase”means a purchase made with your enrolled Card at a U.S. supermarket location by 9/25/2019.
- “Supermarket”means a standalone merchant in the U.S. primarily selling supermarket products.
- Excludes gasoline purchases and gift card purchases.
- Specialty food stores, Superstores or Warehouse Clubs are not considered Supermarket stores
Our Verdict
I couldn’t find this on my points-earning cards, but a friend got the 750 offer, and DDG reports on the 500 offer. Pretty nice offer as we all use the grocery, and this amounts to an extra 3x or 5x on top of your regular earning rate.
Got it on my AmEx Plat and added the offer to my account, spent $100, went back and looked and it had vanished. No credit. Talking with a rep now who is acting like I’m making it all up.

Mine disappeared as well after making more than 2 transactions greater than $100. No bonus points. WTF.

Received 1,500 MR Pts.
Had legitimate spending at various groceries stores for about $400 (offer was 500MRx3 after $100×3). Only 2 our of 10 transactions got recognized by their system so the tech rep had to manually add each purchase to qualify for this offer. Seems to be random system error – had two transactions at Trader Joe’s and we was recognized and the other didn’t. If you still waiting for bonus points for this offer you might want to call CS. In comparisons gas station offer triggered email notification immediately.
Got Spent $100 get 500 x3 on my Plat. Bought $100 vgc at Kroger 2 weeks ago but no points posted so far. Will wait a little bit and chat with Amex.

got it on plat but not the bc (the one that actually has a category bonus for groceries). might use to hit that $250 since it’ll be 4x rate effectively

I got the Spent $250 get 750 x 3 on my AMEX Plat, but none of our other cards got it. I suspect what some said is true, if you have grocery spend already you are less likely. We use my wife’s Gold card due to the Supermarket bonus, and she didn’t get it, same with her other cards.

The “one or more” transactions together with the 3x is really confusing. It sounds like a single $300 purchase might be enough to get the whole 1500 points.
A single $300 purchase will most likely qualify for one 500MR bonus, because it meets “a minimum of $100+ in one or more eligible transactions” condition.
In other words, it’s not a “you will receive 500MR for every $100 spent” offer.
By “one or more transactions” do they mean you can get the 500 bonus by spending $50 and $50 days apart or just that you can use $100 to get 500 more than once, but up to 3 times?
Sounds to me like the former
You will receive a 500MR bonus after you spend a total of $100 (in one or more transactions).
You can receive the bonus up to three times.
