Our Verdict
Some nice saving, offer seems to be showing on most/all cards. You can also get a $25 gift card if you complete your first Best Western stay by September 7th which is a nice stack, but the window of opportunity here is small. (Separately, there’s a deal on Best Western gift cards which won’t stack with this Amex deal.)

Also for those booking best western they match status real easy. I literally wrote down that I’m a Hilton diamond and they matched in an hour without even asking for proof. And I believe the status will be good till 2022
Kona
Yep, experienced the same, and that too to their Diamond Select.
Can we use this status now to get status at other chains? lol
When they state “Room rate and room charges,” does that include taxes, or does it have to be $100 pretax?
I’m asking because so many of the BW hotels have room rates at like $92.50 or $95.00 per night.
In my experience with amex they don’t differentiate. Only looks at the final number charged
Unrelated, but I can see an offer on the Amex portal, after logging in: “For a limited time, earn 20% back on Amazon.com purchases when you apply for the Blue Cash Everyday® Card. That’s up to $200 cash back. Offer ends 10/07/20.”
On a somewhat unrelated note, did anyone get their $25 Tanks-a-Lot gift card from BW? How about the other $25 promotion where a stay results in another gift card? Both of these expire Dec 31. I’m still waiting for both and my eligible stay was on July 6.
Hey doc, some really good info here about how to get more amex offers. It’s well known that you can only get 100 un-activated amex offers at a time, but I never put it together that you could activate offers in order to get more to show up! Maybe a lot of us are targeted for more offers but just can’t see them.

Thanks Chris, you reminded me to do it
It’s a good tip. I do it on a card I’m not going to be using anyway so it doesn’t clog things up on the card I use. We mentioned it here as well https://www.doctorofcredit.com/tip-dont-use-amex-app-to-find-amex-offers-caps-at-50-offers/
Ah, totally missed that. I remember the article but probably just headlined since it confirmed my app experience. Thanks for all that you guys do!
