The Offer
There’s a targeted offer showing on many Amex cards. There are two versions of the offer, depending on the card:
-
Get 1,000 additional Membership Rewards points by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $50+ in one or more eligible transactions in-store at Big Lots or online at www.biglots.comÂ
-
Get a $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $50+ in one or more eligible transactions in-store at Big Lots or online at www.biglots.comÂ
The Fine Print
- Valid through 4/30/17
- $50 threshold can be met in one transaction or combined from multiple transactions
- Excludes leased furniture
- Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account and limit of 1000 additional Membership Rewards points per Card
- These additional points are in addition to any points you would normally receive for purchases on your Card under the terms of your Card Member Agreement and the Membership Rewards program
- When we calculate the additional points benefit for Amex EveryDay® Card products, points awarded under this offer will not be included
Our Verdict
Amex deals at discount stores are usually popular. You can also lock in the discount with Big Lots gift cards purchased at a Big Lots physical store. Reselling the gift cards doesn’t look profitable.
Came through on my Bank Of America deals 10 percent statement credit.
I had $10 off $50 on SPG personal but nothing on Platinum.
I also got an email this week from there rewards program for $10 off of every $50 up $100 off of $500. So some stacking ability there!
Stacked the email $10 off $50 with the amex $10 off $50 today! Got $70 purchase for $50. Amex notified me the offer was used within minutes.
The proverbial question: do they sell third party gift cards at Big Lots?
Nope
Keep an eye out for a $75 off $300 Dell. I got it on my BCE and wife’s BCP. Brother’s BCP had it as well and the Big Lots offer.
I got this offer on my PRG but got a $10 off $50 on my Business Rewards Gold, which I thought was a little weird.
