The Fine Print

Our Verdict

These Boxed offers come out regularly, and great deals can be had by stacking it right. Let us know of any promos or offers at Boxed and we’ll add them below.

Stacking the Deal

  • Aside from the Amex Offer mentioned above, there’s a separate Amex Offer deal to get a bonus Membership Rewards point for each dollar spent at Boxed. Be sure to save that offer too on your MR cards.
  • Go through a shopping portal
  • New users can get $15 off $60 with referral
  • First-time Boxed users can get $15 back from Swagbucks when shopping $20+ in the groceries category. (This stacks with the referral bonus.)
  • $20 back on $50 purchase for first time Boxed customers by linking your credit card with Drop and saving the offer (note: terms say this offer can’t be combined with other offers; but it seems to work anyway)
  • Promo code GETBULK for 15% off your first order
  • 4% back with Acorns (?)
  • Add some free Boxed samples to your orders

referral coupon not stacking with GETBULK.

How to get it working?

Yo… Ninja X…I know we don’t exactly agree on many issues, but, you have a heart of gold… that has become obvious to me!! So, now that I know what you reported… I’m gonna conduct a little experiment… I’ll remove one of my cards from my online account, add the offer to the only one left, and then see if I am able to add it to the other card later… I’ll report back… Jesus loves us all…

I struggle with how to use these Boxed offers… after stacking Amex + portals + promos, Boxed is pretty much the same price as Amazon for most items I want… and Boxed is still more expensive than, say, Sam’s Club.

Why do people get excited over these offers – what am I missing?

Here’s an example Ben. If you are new to Boxed go find someone’s referral code when you set up your account. It will take $15 off your first order. Next, we need a portal so let’s head over to the cashback monitor. At this time Ebates has 5%. (If you have a different preference use that instead, no need to pick up every single portal available) Let’s use the above recommendation for the $85 Outback Steakhouse Gift Cards that cost $74.99. We will need a bit more, not sure what you normally shop for, but let’s go nuts: Planters Deluxe Mixed Nuts Sea Salt 34 oz $17.99. These two bring out total to $92.98. (You also get to add 2 samples before you check out, you can add more nuts with the almonds sample xD.) Your $15 off your first order brings the total to $77.98. Because the total charged to AMEX is over $75, you will get a $20 credit. Because you used a shopping portal, you will get a $3.90 credit on that account. So your $85 in Outback Gift Cards and container of nuts cost you $54.08. If the shopping portals themselves are what give you problems, I would suggest picking one that has a toolbar, then install it. They will remind you to click to save using the portal links.

I don’t know what the other commenter meant by “wrote all that for nothing.” I thought this was an apt example, and instructional in how some of Boxed’s less-than-great prices can be felled through strategic coupon-stacking

Don’t pay attention to that person. They just like to insult people.

I looked everywhere for a returning customer promo code. I’ll just wait to use my amex offer once i can get my hands on one.

I made a Boxed purchase through Drop in November and I still haven’t received my points.

Me too. Purchased on Nov. 14 and still pending. Have emailed them several times but each time they just asked me to wait until they get response from Boxed.

Me too. Don’t hold your breath. My support tickets since September get silently closed multiple times. They’re unreliable/liars, rude, and unprofessional!
