Amex Offers: Dell.com $75 or 7500 MR back on $300 Purchase

The Offer

There’s a new targeted Amex Offer showing in some logins for Dell.com. There are two variations of the offer:

  • Get $75 back as a statement credit when spending $300 or more with an enrolled card
  • Get 7500 Membership Rewards points when spending $300 or more with an enrolled card

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 3/25/17.
  • $300 threshold can be met in one transaction or multiple transactions
  • Not valid for e-gift card purchases.
  • Not valid on purchases shipped outside the US, Puerto Rico, USVI and Guam.
  • Excludes gift card purchases.
  • Excludes international contact center, Global events, Dell Financial services and authorized retailers.

Our Verdict

This offer is usually a offer one; unfortunately it’s targeted on select cards only. Check your cards for the $75 offer and your MR cards for the 7500 MR offer.

In the past, they only excluded e-gift cards in the terms, but I’ve always wondered how physical gift card would work being that those are now also processed by Cashstar. This time, they appear to have excluded all gift cards. Let us know if you get it to work anyway.

What the heck. Now this offer has been loaded to my Amex Blue card today. A little late too since I ordered a couple of items during the President’s Day sale. Other people should check to see if it got loaded recently.

I can confirm this is back on all of my Amex accounts. Anyone who wants this offer should load it ASAP – it usually disappears within a couple of hours.

Like a commenter above, I also bought a physical gift card thru cashstar last time and didn’t get the credit (and nothing has posted for me months later unlike that commenter). The physical gift card actually posted to my credit card as something like “cashstar egift dell.”

Would this work buying an Alienware product? Since Alienware is Dell, I mean.

Didn’t get targeted, but I did get an offer of spend $500 at ylighting.com or yliving.com and receive 10,000 MR points. Personal Plat got that offer, and my Personal SPG card got spend $500 receive $100 in the same places.

Last go round I bought a physical GC assuming it would work since the T&C said only e-gift certain were ineligible. I didn’t get a confirmation email.

Two months later I got a mystery $100 credit from Amex. I never got around to calling them on it. I assume their systems caught it once the offer expired.
