[Expired] AmEx Offers: Directv, Spend $69.99 & Get $50 Back (Can Be Done 2x)

Deal has ended, view more directv deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Check your AmEx Offers for the following deal:

  • Get a $50 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to make a single purchase of $69.99 or more online at directv.com or by calling 800-531-5000 by 11/10/2024. Limit of 2 statement credits (total of $100).

The Fine Print

  • Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid online only at US website directv.com or by calling 800-531-5000. Excludes DIRECTV STREAM and third party/authorized retailers. See merchant website for service availability in your market. Please note if you purchase a subscription, unless you notify the merchant that you want to pause, cancel, or that you do not want to auto renew, your subscription will automatically renew for another subscription period (subject to applicable law) of equal length (for example monthly, or annually). This means that the merchant will collect the then-applicable subscription fee and any taxes by charging a credit card the merchant has on record for you without notifying you, unless notification is required by applicable law. Purchases may not qualify if not billed directly by the merchant. For example, if you purchased your subscription through a third party device/digital platform, you may get billed by the party you signed up with, and not directly by the merchant. Offer is non-transferable. Valid only on purchases made in US dollars. Limit of 2 statement credits (total of $100 back) per Card Member. You may not receive the statement credit if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as qualifying for the offer. For example, you may not receive the statement credit if (a) the merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date). Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 11/10/2024, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items/services from your qualifying purchase have been shipped/provided by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your purchase as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account. The enrolled Card account must be active, not past due, canceled, or have a returned payment outstanding to receive statement credits. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Amex Offers are available for varying and limited periods of time and are dynamic and personalized. If you navigate away from the Amex Offers page, you may see different offers when you return. For questions regarding your Card Account, please call the number on the back of your Card. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. Our Verdict

Nice deal here for Directv users, it covers most of the monthly cost on the base plan for 2 months (plan requires 24 month contract). Stack with the other AmEx Offer to get $10 back if you do 3 streaming purchases.

Not sure if it’s just me, but I did no login payment method for fiber 2 weeks ago and haven’t gotten the credit yet, but I did get the AMEX offer email. Anyone else?

I just made a 69.99 payment using no login “att fast pay” is what shows as pending.

No immediate email triggering the credit.

Someone once posted the art fiber business no login pay. And that used to show up as fiber or something.

If anyone has a successful DP this round for paying a wireless bill please share.

Not quite what your situation is, but I did make a legit payment to my Directv account (satellite, not stream) and it triggered the email notification. The pending transaction shows with a merchant name of “AT&T UVERSE CONS SW-EVR”. The last time this offer was around, I tried the exact same thing and it didn’t trigger the offer so clearly something’s changed here now…

Con sw shows as an authorization for $1 when I added the card as a payment method. When paying logged in I see it showing as BDEBILL CIA 1x

Not from this round, but last round in April I paid once by not logging in (paid my parents’ bill who still use DirecTV, so perfectly in line with the offer) and paid once by the phone number in the offer. Neither triggered email.

Eventually, about 1.5 months later, the online not-logged in payment did credit the offer. The phone payment never did. Super annoying how inconsistent these offers are.

Online payment shows as this:
04/06/24 ATT BILL PAYMENT 800-288-2020 TX
AT&T HSIA BUS E-EVR
4331 COMMUNICATIONS DRIVE
DALLAS
TX
75211

Phone payment shows as this:
04/06/24 AT&T BILL PAYMENT 800-288-2020 TX
AT&T HSIA BUS E-EVR
208 S AKARD ST
DALLAS
TX
75202-4295

Thanks for the DP! Just out of curiosity how do you rule one of the two out when it was the same date?

So far on this offer I have paid DirecTV (shows as AT&T HSIA BUS E-EVR) and received the credit within a couple business days.

I tried to pay my AT&T wireless account (shows as AT&T FASTPAY) and this did NOT receive any credit. Seems like paying cellphone bill when not logged in will not trigger this offer.

Does DirectTV just have online streaming you pay for month-by-month? or is it still one of those things you sign up for for 1 year? I’m wondering if this is useful for 2 months of streaming TV

They do but the offer specifically calls it out.

Excludes DIRECTV STREAM and third party/authorized retailers.

I have Direct TV but ATT acquired them years ago from my understanding. I don’t have service with ATT other than my DTV satellite service yet my bills have ATT headers. All credit card charges state ATT as the merchant not Direct TV. Does anyone show DTV as the merchant on their credit card statements?

I know this doesn’t help your specific question but maybe to help understand why it shows up as ATT.

Per Bloomberg: As of October 4, 2023, AT&T still co-owns DirecTV with TPG Inc., a private equity firm, through a joint venture formed in 2021. The partnership includes a three-year commitment that gives AT&T the option to sell its stake after July 31, 2024.

I just did this on my Schwab Platinum where the offer showed up. On 8/13 I made two payments, one for $70 and one for $71 when logged into my att.com account for Directv. The payments showed up as:

AT&T *PAYMENT
AT&T UVERSE

I got the emails that the offer was triggered and then on my latest statement the credits posted on 8/15 as:

AT&T UVERSE CONS SW-EVR
DALLAS
Amex Offer Credit
