Our Verdict
I believe this offer is showing on all Amex business cards. As always, we are limited to saving the offer on just one card. Choose wisely which card to save it on. If you have the SimplyCash which earns 5% back at office supply stores then that’s an easy choice. Otherwise, the Blue Business Plus might be a good one.
Amex continues to come out with solid business card offers; we recently saw the 10% Lowe’s offer as well. These merchants sell lots of gift cards to places like Amazon, etc., making them easy to maximize even if you don’t need anything from the merchant. You can also buy gift cards at staples.com, even $300 Visa gift cards there. Or can also wait for one of the Staples fee-free Visa/MC promos and use up the offer that way.

Has anyone ever had trouble with Staples cancelling an online order for a $300 VISA GC? I called and they said it was cancelled because they were unable to verify the address? I don’t have any staples nearby so online is my only option.
Hello – Is the amex simplycash business card still available for signup ? What other amex business cards have good amex offers/benefits with no annual fee ?
“Or can also wait for one of the Staples fee-free Visa/MC promos and use up the offer that way.”
This may not be the best way to maximize this offer since these offers usually limit one card per customer.
I suppose you can hit two of those deals to max out. I’m sure we’ll see more than one of them between now and June.
staples is so annoying now that they don’t allow split payment no more. So the best use of this would be buying Amazon gift card.
Since when? I last did this about a month ago.
Depends on the store – mine said their policy is to not split on gift card purchases.
Are there still Staple stores? The ones in my area closed down years ago.
There are several where I live in South Florida.
In addition to Staples, I also have 10% off purchase from Lowe’s upto $100 cashback (ie) I can buy $1K gift cards and get $100 cashback. Love it !
last year I got on Simply Biz. This year on BBP. Best cards ever!
Has anyone found Staples offers to be limited by household? My wife and I had a similar offer on personal cards last year. I purchased gift cards using my AMEX card on Staples.com and received the full rebate. I then attempted to purchase gift cards using my wife’s card and the orders were repeatedly cancelled. I called Staples and they suggested they have an internal limit per household that equates to the maximum rebate on one card. Unfortunately, I live in Hawaii and we don’t have physical Staples locations here.
Stop complaining, you already live in Hawaii. Most of us are stuck here in this cold, I would trade with you any day.
Don’t envy, homeless bums everywhere now.
Oh, so i guess not so different from NY and CA after all…
