Amex released an offer today for Banana Republic:

• Spend $125 in a Banana Republic store location and get a $25 statement credit

 

The Fine Print

• Expires 9/30/17
• Valid in-store only
• Valid at any participating location in the US
• Excludes Banana Republic Factory locations
• Excludes online order/pick up in store
• Not valid for gift cards in bulk purchases
• Excludes The Options Gift Cards, aDressed, Weddington Way and bulk orders

Our Verdict

Nice offer, I found it on most/all of my cards, not sure if it’s targeted or for everyone.

While this is only for Banana Republic specifically, you can easily buy $125 gift card in a Banana Republic store and lock in the discount for any Gap brand. The terms exclude ‘gift cards in bulk purchases‘ and ‘the options gift cards’. Regular gift card purchases at the normal POS should work, not sure why the Option gift card won’t work.

You can try reselling Gap/BR gift cards as well, but it’s unlikely you’ll be able to even get a sale at 80% break-even, and even then it’s probably not worth the hassle just for the points.
