[Expired] [Update] AmEx Offers: Google Fi $25 Off $50 (Can Be Done 3X)

Deal has ended, view more GoogleFi deals by clicking here.

Update 5/15/22: A reader notes that this offer is available via the Amex Connect site as well (direct link) which allows saving this offer on on third-party Amex cards.

Update 5/5/22: A reader confirms the credit is being triggered automatically with Fi prepayments as well.

The Offer

Check your AmEx Offers for the following deal:

  • Get a $25 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $50 in one or more purchases online at fi.google.com by 9/2/2022. Limit of 3 statement credits (total of $75). See terms.

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid for Google Fi purchases only. Valid online only at fi.google.com and app via Android devices only.
  • Valid only on purchases made in US Dollars.
  • Excludes all other Google products and services.
  • Please note if you purchase a subscription, unless you notify the merchant that you want to pause, cancel, or that you do not want to auto renew, your subscription will automatically renew for another subscription period (subject to applicable law) of equal length (for example monthly, or annually). This means that the merchant will collect the then-applicable subscription fee and any taxes by charging a credit card the merchant has on record for you without notifying you, unless notification is required by applicable law. American Express identifies qualifying transactions based on information provided by the participating merchant. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of 3 statement credits (total of $75 back) per Card Member.

Our Verdict

Excellent deal for Fi phone service users. A reader notes that you can prepay for Google Fi (go to this link and click Manage > Pay Early), so it should be possible to easily max out this offer by prepaying $50 three separate times. See also this comment.

If you are new to Google Fi, my appreciation if you use my Google Fi referral link  – after you are active for 30 days, we’ll each get a $20 Fi credit (details here).

Anyone know if a Google store purchase triggers this offer? Looking to combine this with the pixel 3a trade in offer if possible

My May $25 credit for a $50 prepayment came through fine, no email but posted about 7-10 days later. My June credit for the same prepayment (which triggered the email this time) came through as $2.50, not $25.00.

Sigh. I’m going to have reach out since that’s $20 different is enough to merit a 20 minute chat or phone call.

So consider checking your activity statement to see if those are posting fine.

Grr.

Still missing a few Amex Offer credits for their own ‘supermarket’ spend category.

Chuck Looks dead (unless previously enrolled). I checked 4 Amex cards, and the 3rd party Amex Connect… I got none.

Instead, the current promo is “Spend $15 or more, get 20% back, up to a total of $40” on Google Photos… 🖼📷

Just received credit for prepayment on 6/3/22. I think doing each one a separate day is key.

I’m not quite sure the prepayments are working anymore. It didn’t trigger an offer usage email and I’m still waiting for a credit. I’ll give it more time but I dunno…

Well, Amex must have heard me type that because I literally just got the trigger email right after dropping that. So it looks like the prepayment is still working. Feel free to delete my comment or leave for others.

Still haven’t received credit for transactions made 5/12 and 5/19. Anyone else?

Third and final prepay just got credited for the $25. Three separate prepays on different days all credited.

After registering my Propel card at Amex Connect for Google Fi, I received $25 credit after 3 days of first $50 prepayment. I waited for a week and then made a second $50 prepayment; but I am yet to receive the $25 credit. It’s been already 2 weeks since the second payment was posted.

Just noticed that the Google Fi offer is not showing in Amex Connect site. Is this why the $25 credit is not showing for the second prepayment?

I have an Amex issued Amex card I did one prepayment two weeks ago and nothing. Also noticed my WM+ reimbursement from early in May hasn’t reimbursed either (prior months have). Amex can have issues with credits. I’ll throw a reminder out there to follow up with them after the terms says the credit will post.

I enrolled my Propel card and my Bluebird Prepaid Card. This makes me not want to try it on these cards just in case it doesn’t work….. At least I got the one for my Gold Card.

MaxRewards added this card to 4 out of 5 Amex cards on my account. Used it to prepay $600, got back $300 in total!

Thanks for sharing your DP, RC . Are you not afraid of Amex’s RAT team?

I hope that you won’t get a bill or a 1099-MISC from Amex RC

When you pay early, it looks like your pre-paid credit will be automatically applied when you get a Google Fi bill. Very seamless
