Our Verdict
Very nice discount and widely available. Save it on your Platinum card, if you have one, since it earns 5x on flights. Many have noted that if you book out a flight in the future and cancel, you’ll bank the refund to be used for a year and thus lock in the discount.

Can you cancel the nonrefundable fare and get travel bank credit?
anyone know if this works for AA flights booked through Jetblue?
Not seeing the offer on my Blue Cash Everyday card, darn it!
Anyone tried to trigger $200 Amex platinum incidental credit and this offer with one purchase with a >280 transaction amount?
AFAIK only amounts under $100 will trigger those (I picked Southwest for my airline though)
I swear this offer originally expired on 7/12 and i hadn’t gotten chance to use it. Then when I went to look at on 7/12, the date was changed to 9/24. Does it happen that these offers get extended? I have strong memories of the 7/12 date and I’m really happy it’s now 9/24
Same happened with mine as well.
Same here
Sometimes they get extended.
I’ve booked four flights in JetBlue this year. One was great. One was cancelled and they generously offered to rebook me four days later. One was delayed by several hours missing an international connection. The last was delayed by two hours. Customer support wait times are consistently over 90 minutes. This airline has gone way downhill.
JetBlue recently changed I nonstop flight I had booked from FLL to New Orleans to now take me through JFK. I had to cancel that. I contacted them via chat recently and after a horribly long hold time I dealt with an extremely rude customer service person who eventually disconnected me. I can’t believe how bad this airline has become.
Agreed. Chances to getting connected to customer service is close to none
They are all struggling right now. It’s not just a JetBlue thing.
Just found this today in my AmEx offers and don’t think it was there before — perhaps more have been targeted?
I’ve booked a refundable fare ($154 -> not enough, $164 -> $210) thinking I can either refund this to travel bank when I want to use it, or refund back to card if I change my mind. Have I missed something?
not sure if amex will clawback the 80$ if it was credited back upon cancelletion.
If back to card, I expect it to be clawed back. I’m doing this as an attempt to be able to change my mind risk free.
I’m in this boat right now

Monnu . I booked a flight with the credit, got the credit, and JetBlue cancelled the flight on me. I haven’t told them yet what I want to do (rebook on a different day, different route, put money into the travel bank or just get the refund). If I get the refund will AMEX claw back the $80?
Refund to Travel Bank and book for future flights work for me but note that the fund is only good for a year.
Yes, that’s what I expected as well — versus booking a nonrefundable fare, I believe I’ve gained a no-penalty cancel with the same 1 year lifetime…. Can you tell whether the travel funds are dated by the original purchase date or the cancellation date?
from date of issuance
I used this offer in May on 2 Amex accounts and the credits posted fine. I still see the offer showing in my added Amex offers on the same accounts I used the offer in May. Is there a second offer or is it the same one? The offer is intended to be one time only.
Doesn’t seem to be on my or my wife’s Platinum or any other cards 🙁 🙁
It was gone in just a few hours, you are too late.
damn, I was on a 6hour road trip and then a 3 hour flight… darn missed this great deal
