7/14: Purchased $310 GC at a Courtyard, in person.
7/17: Got Amex email.
7/19: Got the $120.
Now to do the $100 one… will update. Have to use a different hotel because that Courtyard only had one GC.

7/19: Purchased $305 GC at a Residence Inn, in person.
7/21: Got Amex email.
7/23: Got the $100.
Anybody know of Marriott properties in the SF Bay Area that have physical gift cards available?
Called around but no luck so far. Half the time the front desk agents don’t even understand what I’m asking about.
Also, will in-hotel restaurants work?
I’d be careful on the restaurants – they are sometimes run by outside entities and need to be charged to your room typically to bank these deals. Good luck finding a GC; here in AZ I also had to call around but I found two.
Im trying to make a reservation but CS told that they hold the card on the card but final charge will be done after stay. Our stay (08/04) will be after the offer end date (07/31) so will this void the offer? any experiences, thanks.

06/17/23 Purchase 3 $300 gift card from Courtyard
06/20/23 posted $120 credit for 2 of them(called about another one where the deal was not there but they said they
can see the $120 credit and will post in the next couple of days.
I am debating if I want to get the $100 off $500 still have time till 07/17/23.
Depends on how often you stay and how much you spend at Marriott but 20% off deal seems to appear on Amex offers frequently. Probably 2-3 times a year.
Which property did you find the gift card at?
So does this work for ANY rate? As long as within the Marriott Bonvoy app?
Data point – found a courtyard that sells gift cards. Bought 305. Showed up as courtyard in person. Purchased Thursday evening. Went from pending to actual transaction today. No amex email stating amex offer used. Still shows as ‘added to card’ and not ‘redeemed’. I’ll give it a week. If no credit, I’ll ping amex.
UPDATE – Took about 7 days to get the ‘you used your amex offer’ email. Took another 3 days to see credit. 10 days from purchase of GC at courtyard to credit on the gold card.
That’s the longest. Wonder why.

Can I ask Marriott to charge $300 each on a couple of credit cards at the time of check-in? We both have offers and will stay for several nights at Marriott property from the end of July to early August.
Buy a GC there and then.
I called several hotels in central New Jersey, noone sells gift cards. Does anyone know which hotel sells gift card in central Jersey? Thanks.
