Does anyone know the status of the funds in the Wallet if you decide to leave Mint? Are they confiscated, or are they preserved and if so how long? An actual data point is helpful.
They are preserved at least for until your next renewal. I had funds in the account done with this offer. My account was deactivated for a day as I did not have auto-renew and only then realized it was time to renew. The funds were still there and I was able to apply them to the new 1 year plan and reduce the total due.
The link gets me:
Wallet
$40.00
Recovery Fee
$6.25
Taxes & Surcharges

$0.68
Total
$46.93
I actually would only get 40 in the wallet by paying 46.93? Thank you.
Their recovery fee is a racket. They have an administrative fee tied into it which they do not breakout. 6.25 for a 40 charge is 15%. That seems very excessive.
I took advantage of this deal last year. I won’t do that again. The Mint app wouldn’t let me add the full value needed to trigger the offer. It took me four separate IMs over the course of two days to properly add the funds to my account in a way I could use them. Sure, the bonus was nice, but it just wasn’t worth the time and effort for me.
I don’t have it this time around either. Amex keeps refusing to give me the offers that’ll be useful to me and instead, keeps “offering” useless things that I’ll never use.
Doesnt TMobile own mint? I wonder if this might work on a TMobile bill.
no
It looks if you have used the 90 deal last year, it won’t show up again.
BofA (cardalytics) also has an offer to start Mint mobile for $15/m for first 3 months. This is for their unlimited everything plan.
I think, this is a standard referral bonus from Mint.
Also just the standard offer on their site for new subscribers
Of course I didn’t get it. Amex is failing me over and over again.
Whether you can use Mint mobile and be still covered under Cell Phone protection plan offered by Venture X ? Because cell Phone protection from Venture X states that you should pay the bill for the cell phone plan every month and Mint mobile is like advance payment for 12 months or 6 or 3 months. Any insights/experience would be really helpful if it is ok to switch to Mint mobile as they have better rates overall for a year.
Pretty sure you won’t be covered as it counts as a prepaid plan, not monthly bill.
DP: No luck for me this time. 0/5. Maybe because I took advantage of this deal last year.
