Update 12/6/23: There’s now a Citi Offer similar to the AmEx Offer – it gives either 1% or 1.5% or 2% back.
The Offer
Check your AmEx Offers for the following deal:
- Get 2% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to make purchases online at newegg.com by 12/31/2023. Limit of $250 back in total statement credits. See terms.
The Fine Print
- Offer valid online only at newegg.com. Valid only on the US version of the merchant’s website.
- Not valid on orders shipped outside of the US.
- Excludes purchases of gift cards and electronic gift cards.
- Not valid on wholesale purchases and purchases made with authorized resellers.
- Valid only on purchases made in US dollars.
Our Verdict
I typically ignore these small-percentage AmEx Offers for smaller retailers, but thought this one for Newegg was worth flagging. We often see some nice gift card deals from Newegg – the terms do exclude gift card purchases, though I wonder whether that will be enforced.

For certain people may be bofa ccr can give 5%? I think even elan/cash+ can also give 5% at electronics/newegg?
yeah, 4x with amex biz gold as well, if it’s one of the top two spending categories.
This offer has been around for the past few months and it worked for my Uber gift card purchases from Newegg.
I saved the full $5 on 3 Uber Gift Cards from Newegg.
Oscar – Is the max cashback $250 back or $5 back?
My bad. I initially thought that the spend limit was $250, but instead the cash back limit is $250. I will probably get $5.40 cash back.
