The Offer
Check your AmEx Offers for the following deal:
- Spend $150 at Off 5th by 9/30/21 and get $30 back as a statement credit.
The Fine Print
- Valid in-store at Saks Off 5th locations or online saksoff5th.com
Our Verdict
Nice little discount. This won’t stack with the AmEx Platinum $50 twice-annual credit since that does not work for Off 5th. (If you use PayPal on Off 5th, your $50 Platinum credit will reportedly get triggered, but your $30 AmEx Offer credit likely won’t post.)

What is the $50 Paypal credit? Is this new? I’ve never seen it mentioned anywhere. Or is this saying the $50 Amex Saks Credit works through Paypal?
It’s the Saks credit working through Paypal. YMMV
I don’t really think it’s true that Amex Offers don’t trigger when you use PayPal. That seems one of those garbage myths that somehow persists, but doesn’t make any sense
Actually it’s no myth. I had an offer from Zenni Optical for $10 off $50 (or something along those lines) and when I checked out through Paypal, I ended up getting the $30 Paypal credit only (when it was active at the time) and the Zenni offer did not trigger. When I messaged Amex they said that because I didn’t check out directly through the vendor the credit didn’t trigger and they would not manually adjust.
