Update 6/19/24: Deal is back and valid until 12/31/2024. Hat tip to reader Davis
The Offer
Check your AmEx Offers for one or both of the following two offers:
- Get 10% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to pay your wireless bill directly with a US wireless service provider by 6/16/2024. Limit of $30 back in total statement credits. See terms.
- Get a $10 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $50 in one or more purchases to pay US bill payments for cable and/or internet services made directly with the provider by 6/10/2024. Limit of 2 statement credits (total of $20). See terms.
There are some other variations in the details of these offers which might have lower %/$ or different expiration dates.
The Fine Print
Wireless Offer:
- Offer valid only for monthly payments for wireless service charges made directly with US wireless service providers via online, mobile app, or by phone. Purchases made with third parties, authorized retailers or resellers are excluded.
- Excludes purchases for VoIP, hardware, equipment, and bundled home/cable services.
Cable Offer:
- Offer valid only on US bill payments for cable and internet television services made directly with the provider. Payments must be made directly with the provider online, via mobile app or by phone. Payments made at service centers do not qualify.
- Payments for hardware and installation are excluded, if not bundled and charged with monthly service bill.
Our Verdict
These are both nice savings. I got the cable offer, but not the wireless one. I’ll immediately go and use it up with two manual payments to avoid forgetting about them later.
Depending on the exact details of your offer, some people won’t find it very worthwhile when they are giving up earning 5x Ultimate Rewards points on the Chase INK Cash/Plus card.
These offers might possibly stack with this Spectrum Amex Offer.

Made a payment to my local ISP in October, Amex’s system did not consider them eligible for this offer. Chatted with Amex agents and got a ticket created to review & add the ISP to their transaction coding system, but no progress seems to have been made based on my follow-up chats and the offer is going to expire at the end of the month.
Got this on my account, but Cable & Internet Bill only. I have Sonic, however they don’t accept AMEX. I have AT&T wireless at this moment. Does anyone know if it works by paying AT&T wireless (ex. no login tricks etc.)
I’m a Google Fi customer, and this didn’t work for me last time. Today I saw a random $30 credit from Google Fi, and it looks like the offer did work for me.
Has anyone tried this since AT&T Fiber added an autopay discount?
They give you $10/off your bill when you set up autopay from a checking account. My autopay withdraws on the 6th. I wonder what would happen if I made a manual $50 payment right now via credit card.
Maybe I should just do it and be the data point I want to see.
Has YouTube TV triggered this offer for anyone?
I got “Save on your Wireless Bill Get 10% back on purchases up to a total of $30”.
I made a $300 purchase with Mint which immediately triggered a credit for….. $0.98 cents???
Chat support is completely useless in explaining how the hell that makes any sense.
Called in and chatted. Apparently I used this credit already in Feb for $29.02. I guess this is a new thing I have to track
Interesting. I have the $10 off $50 x2 offer on my account but happened to check my account history and notice a random $20 credit back in February for Spectrum with no purchases that month or e-mails notifying me of offer used then. I wonder if Amex made some sort of mistake with this offer? I did have some payments to Spectrum several months prior.
Your message makes me think that if I make a $50 purchase then I may have the same issue as you where it will show as already used. I am not sure why it would still show under list of available offers for us though since usually it is removed when it is used.
Seems Amex marketing dept ditched the idea of enticing the cardholders with attractive offers. Mostly junk or unextended teasers these days.

Used insurance, grocery and part of the internet offer throughout last summer. Nothing this year on offers of those kind yet this year. Did not use the wireless credit that somewhat recently expired.
