Update 10/7/20: They removed the ability to pay with an American Express card for awhile, but you can now do that again. Seems like the almost free coffee is also available as well.
The Offer
- Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $10 or more online at drinktrade.com by 12/30/2020. See terms for exclusions.
The Fine Print
- Offer valid at www.drinktrade.com.
- Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US.
Our Verdict
From a quick look, it seems the lowest cost coffee is $17.95, but you can subscribe and pay $10.33 for the first shipment. I did notice bags for $7.50 and a cleaner for $6; there might be other low cost things to buy too. Go through Rakuten for an extra 4%/4x. If you sign up for their e-mails you’ll also get 30% off.

I got Doma, great stuff. thanks doc
The coffee is great.
looks like my Amex offer disappeared. I saw it last week. Can’t find it anywhere now.
I still see it in my account today. It say it’s good till 12/30. Will try to use it today.
did it reappear for anyone or is it still avail for anyone?
People may want to double check if the offer you added is still visible. I added mine when it was announced and transaction cleared yesterday. I was wondering when the offer would be used and then I check today and notice it’s missing from my added to card list and not in savings. I chatted with chat support and they confirmed the offer was used and should be seen within 3 to 5 business days.
They have a first-match guarantee – if you don’t LOVE your first match, they will send you another order free. Quick and easy via customer service email.
Since Amex has no problem beating up on us, I did complain to them when Trade refused to accept Amex. I hope others did as well. I will be taking Trade for 6 bags of coffee and promptly cancelling all the subscriptions, telling them exactly why…..them being a-holes entering in a Amex deal and trying to get out of it. This reminds me of all the companies that partner with T-Mobile Tuesdays and try to screw people by raising prices or raising shipping rates just because you are redeeming an offer they agreed to.
That’s unnecessary. Someone on their marketing team screwed up, they got a ton of subscriptions that are going to get cancelled after the first order, and now they have to ship out lots of premium coffee for free. Someone’s knee jerk reaction was to stop the bleeding by not taking AMEX, but they seem to have restored the option now.
As a new-ish espresso machine owner I’d love to see more coffee deals from Trade, and sending them angry messages after taking advantage of their screw up will not help anyone.
I got the Woodsman coffee. It was $10.33 after the 30% off to subscribe. There’s 4% back from Rakuten and the $10.00 from Amex. Free coffee and some pennies profit; this I love.
Thanks for the recommendation, I ordered this as well!
Just got this email from them:
Rumor has it we recently ran a promo that was almost too good to be true. There’s no such thing as a free lunch, but it turns out there is (nearly) free coffee. How? Chalk it up to 2020…
So that kinda sorta explains the offer, but we’d really rather focus on your coffee:
You’ve probably taken our quiz by now, it’s here to match you to coffees all personalized to your taste.
Your coffee is being roasted by one of the best local roasters in the US — your purchase helps support these small businesses and provide fair wages to farmers, no joke.
Your coffee will arrive at peak freshness, direct from the roaster.
That goes ditto for each new coffee and roaster you receive!
It’s a sweet deal indeed!
If you have no idea what we’re talking about, we apologize for the extra email and hope you enjoy this brief primer on your coffee all the same.
Yeah, got it too; kinda funny in a somewhat passive-aggressive way.
“Can a company be b*tchy?”
I also got this email. Looks like you can just blame anything these days on 2020.
