ANA plans to launch a new credit card called ‘ANA CARD U.S.A. Plus’. An e-mail was sent out to US based members. Details are as follows:
- $85 annual fee
- 5000 miles after first purchase
- points rewards: 2x on ANA purchase, 1x on others
- no foreign transaction fee
- 25% boost on ANA miles when you fly with ANA
- 10% discount on in-flight purchases
- 10% discount on ANA operated duty free shop at the airport
- 5% discount on ANA group
- Full terms can be found here.
E-mail also mentions ‘We have even better deals! We will send an email soon.’ so not sure what that means. JAL also just launched new US credit cards, so I suspect this is in response to that.
I am wondering if ANA miles can be extended through using the card?
It’s surprising that neither ANA or JAL partnered with JCB in the US to issue a card as both airlines offer JCB rewards cards in Japan. Delta used to have a US JCB card that earned 1.5 miles per $1 and no annual fee. JCB no longer operates in the US.
Thank god it’s offering no real miles as a bonus, no real benefits or discounts and negligible inflationary pressure. I don’t want it, won’t get it, and am super happy with it.
Who knew the Japnese were such ludicrous cheapskates?
Ah! Not Again!
This is targeted for Japanese expats living in US. Japanese people never carry on credit card balance, so sub or benefits are usually not lucrative.
Having a wife that suffered through working at a Japanese company run by expats, I’m sure someone (internal or consultant) told them this was an uncompetitive offering for the US market, and they decided they knew better.
this is 100% correct, with the added bonus that they hired the consultant or foreigner with the intent of “globalizing” , and “getting an international opinion” and the proceed to disregard the employee in every domain, even in English translations
I worked there for 5 years and hated that part of it.
Does it come with a Japanese cutie?
Applied & approved! Just kidding…
Credit cards in Japan in general have 💩sign up bonuses. Therefore I’m not surprised that this card, even for U.S. market but has Japan relation, also has a 💩 sign up bonus.
