Our Verdict
This is one of the best offers on REDcard signup; previous offers can be viewed here. Sometimes we see $50 off, but that requires $100 in spend.
Nice long time period for this offer too. Looks like the $4 from Swagbucks is not currently available. There’s no hard pull for the debit card.

This seems to be still live (not expired).
Got that here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/apply-for-a-new-target-redcard-debit-credit-and-get-40-off-40-shopping-trip-11-1-12-26/
i remember reading somewhere that you can use the coupon twice once in person and once online but it had to be in a specific order. not sure if its in person 1st or online. does anyone know what I am referring to?
It doesn’t have to be in a specific order. I recommend online first so you can pick up your order right after making your in store purchase. Also if you choose to go in store first, either use self checkout or make sure to take a pic of the coupon to save the promo code since the cashier keeps it.
The cashier might try it themselves on fake Target.com accounts! 😀
BTW I noticed that the new coupons don’t mention that they’ve to be handed over to the store staff.

This has to be a dream.
you don’t think eventually you’ll go to jail for this for fraud? seriously question.. signing up and cancelling signing up and cancelling etc.etc. x5
How is this “fraud”? Signing up and cancelling repeatedly is not against any of their terms, its simply a loophole in their system. Nothing illegal or fraudulent with that.
That being said, we don’t know if this next deal will have any system instituted restrictions that prevent the coupon from being sent to the same address more than once. Until Target implements such a restriction, the “loss” they are incurring is less than the cost to implement that change. I imagine that while there is a good amount of MSers taking advantage, many who thought they would do this frequently find it tedious to have to sign up, wait for it to come, then call and cancel. For me, the effort is worth it in order to stock up on non-perishable essentials that currently will last me the next 12 months (think dishwasher pods, paper towels, cleaning supplies, razor blades, etc).
No kidding. It’s almost like free isn’t good enough anymore lol. But yeah stocked for a year or two makes it worthwhile lol
I had an app that was pending (applied during promo period). Just received letter saying they had to decline because they were unable to validate checking account information. AFAIK, this is recon’able, but if approved afterwards, would I still get the coupon?
The safest bet is probably to ask them directly if you’d get the coupon during your recon. Though BTH I wouldn’t count on it.
If things don’t work out, the next cycle starts on Nov 1. Same 40 off 40!
Approved for debit card on 16th still no card in the mail :/
Did you get a shipped email notification before? Technically they have until the 30th for you to receive it, as that’s 10 business days.
Same. Didn’t show up in Informed Delivery, so it was lost in transit.
Just got my third card for this promotion and was pleasantly surprised to see 2 coupons inside (with different codes). Looks like they got stuck together, nice to feel lucky for once.
Lucky indeed, you get to quadruple dip. I noticed these coupons were printed on thinner paper. They are usually printed on thicker paper and replacement coupons are printed on card stock.
Think this would work? Going to give it a try for my last round this cycle.
1. Use promo code online
2. Use barcode scan at self checkout (this first so the cashier won’t keep coupon)
3. Use numbers under barcode at register
Let’s see if I can make this a $120 coupon.
please let us know if you can successfully triple dip and update us! Kamil Sultan
That would not work because the barcode and the number under barcode are the same. You can download barcode scanner app and see. So you gotta choose 2 or 3
Guys, I received the last coupon and made an order today but I don’t have time for in-store shopping right now. How many days (from your experience) do I have to redeem it? Will it work at the registry on Saturday or Sunday? Usually I made in-store shopping and then online the same day or the next day and everything was fine.
I have redeemed in different orders and on different days. As long as you use it before the coupon expires, you’ll be fine. If for some reason the barcode doesn’t work, there’s the code under the barcode (separate from the the promo code for online use) they can type in.
Another question.. this is my third one.. but is there any way I can register to “manage my card” before it arrives? I want to double check the address I used since I used a different mailing address this time.. or do I need to wait for the physical card to arrive to sign up to manage it because it needs the 3 digit CSV code?
so I just applied and approved for 3rd debit card at 22:45 PM PST on October 16.. I should still get the $40 coupon the mail right???
Yes, you are a day early.
