Two AmEx Delta E-mail Offers That Are Available To Everybody: Gold (50k Miles), Platinum (45k Miles + 15k MQM)

The Offers

• Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card: Bonus is 50,000 Delta SkyMiles after $1,000 in spend in the first 3 months and a $50 statement credit after your first Delta purchase, again in the first three months. $95 annual fee is waived first year. Say you received an email, and when prompted give the POID number BDGK:0002
• Platinum Delta Skymiles Credit Card: Bonus is 45,000 SkyMiles and 15,000 Medallion Qualifications Miles  after $1,000 in spend in the first three months and a $100 statement credit after your first Delta purchase within the three months. Annual fee of $195 is not waived this year. Say you received an email for it, and when prompted give the POID number BDGK:0004

You need to call in to get either of these offers. The best number to call is 877-621-2639. If you use either of these offers and are approved then you’ll receive a short survey by e-mail. Please answer this e-mail and consider giving extremely high marks (9-10) as that is how the phone representatives bonuses are calculated. By doing this, these types of deals are more likely to be leaked to us in the future.

The Fine Print

• Both deals expire August 10th, 2014
• You will be ineligible for the bonus if you’ve ever had the card you’re applying for at any time in the past or currently have it
• You can only receive each AmEx bonus once
• This is a work around and may not work correctly, when you call make sure you get the phone representative to confirm the bonus and terms of the bonus. Also get a reference number in case things go pear shaped.

Our Verdict

These bonuses are much higher than they usually are, the gold is normally 35,000 points and the platinum is usually only 5,000 MQM’s and 35,000 miles. If you live near a Delta hub want status with Delta then these offers could be a good deal. It’s important to remember that Delta has devalued SkyMiles a number of times, if you’re planning to get either of these offers then it’s a good idea to use the points sooner rather than later. The gold card has also had a higher sign up bonus of 70,000 miles in the past.

I’m personally going to skip both of these offers as I’m not a fan of Delta or their SkyMiles. You can view their award chart here. I’d also recommend seeing if you have any pre-approved or special offers from American Express as they might be higher than this offer (doubtful, but always worth a check), there are also two other methods of possibly seeing this bonus directly. Both of these offers have been added to our master list of credit card sign up bonuses.

It’s also worth remembering that this deal was supposed to be for people who received a targeted e-mail, if you confirm everything with the phone representative and get a reference number I don’t think you should have any difficulties getting the increased sign up bonus.
