[Expired] [YMMV] AT&T Customers: 6 Months of Free Spotify Premium

Deal has expired, view more AT&T deals by clicking here

The Offer

Direct Link to offer (can be found in the AT&T Thanks app)

  • AT&T Wireless is offering a free 6-month trial of Spotify Premium via their AT&T Thanks program.

The Fine Print

  • Ends 12/31/19.
  • Eligibility: AT&T postpaid wireless (excludes data-only plans), DIRECTV (excludes DIRECTV NOW), U-verse TV, and AT&T Internet customers (Excludes DSL, Fixed Wireless Broadband and dial-up services) in good standing.

Our Verdict

Seems like many/most are seeing this, but perhaps not everyone (or maybe they are just looking in the wrong place). Nice trial offer, just make a note to cancel before the first charge hits as you will need to enter your credit card info for the subscription during signup.

You have to have “Gold tier” or “Platinum tier” status as per this page (sorry I think it may be formatted for mobile):

https://www.att.com/att/attthanks/en/tiers-mobile.html

Basically you have to have a combination of two or more of AT&T Wireless/DIRECTV or U-verse TV/U-verse Internet. Just having one of the services is not good enough to qualify.

Edit: a friend who is Platinum tier told me they still don’t have the offer, so maybe nevermind.

It took multiple times of logging in over and over to get to the point of signing up. I had the nice 6 month offer. Went to give credit card – bounced. Tried multiple cards and finally gave up.

Zip code (or general area) of anyone who was targeted for this?

I’m not seeing it in my AT&T Thanks app and the direct link to offer uses a unique code. So when I started the process (with a new Spotify account) it said I wasn’t eligible for that offer but it showed a few other offers.

Great timing.. apple music trial just expired and I’ll just go around to the free deals. Using a VGC from OD this week that will be drained after sign up..

I’ve had premium Spotify paid for by AT&T for quite some time. I was able to get this without being a new customer of AT&T nor new to Spotify.

“No direct link, check your AT&T Thanks app for this offer”

I wasn’t aware of the existence of an AT&T Thanks App. I’ll have to look…

I don’t see it on mine. Really wish I did cuz that would be a $60 savings.

Even if it was only for new Spotify accounts, it’s very easy to make your lists public and then bookmark/access from a new account.

Spotify offer doesn’t show in ATT Thanks app. You have to use browser.

ATT treats prepaid as if they are not paying bills. Hell, we pay it upfront. Time to switch

Prepaid cost a lot less than postpaid. The tax and fee on a postpaid bill is close enough for a month of spotify service

Nothing in my AT&T Thanks app. It’s probably for new Spotify customers anyway and I’ve long past that with multiple trials.
