Our Verdict
Pretty nice discount for someone interested in an Audible subscription; we saw a similar kind of deal last year for Prime Day.
Anyone know if this will trigger the AMEX 5x bonus Amazon offer?
Has anyone been able to add this deal to an existing Annual Membership plan? I go through well more than 12 credits / year, so would love to add an additional 12 credits.
I wish Audible will have a 2 for 1 sale on their entire catalog. That would be sweet.
So it’s about $8.30 per book. Not bad, and certainly better than the monthly price of $14.95. I’ve taken advantage of several previous deals at better prices thanks to heads-ups from DoC ($6.95/mo or even $4.95/mo for 3-4 months), so that’s around my limit for what I’m willing to pay.
But frankly, since discovering that my local library system has a huge selection of audiobooks available for *free* through Overdrive (https://www.overdrive.com/libraries), I can’t justify even a discounted Audible deal. The only time I *might* look at Audible is for new releases that tend to take longer to come to the library; but I’ve already got a few on preorder from the last Audible deal, and no others I can think of that I want right now.
agree, OverDrive has about 75% of what I’m looking for. If it’s a blockbuster (Stephen King, Jack Reacher et al) I use Audible credit so I don’t have to wait. I end up canceling and restarting Audible and use about 6-8 credits per year.
This deal is available year round if you contact Audible support and ask for it.
