Our Verdict
This enrolls you in auto billing, so remember to cancel otherwise you’ll be charged $14.95 a month. Previous best deal was 3 months free. Seems to be working for people that have tried Audible before as well.
YMMV. Of two accounts that are not currently subscribed, one worked and one didn’t.
Old Audible account (prior to Amazon acquiring them), last subscription canceled May 2022: worked. Had to go to audible.com and click on the deal banner from there because DoC’s link goes to Amazon and only works for Amazon logins.
Amazon account, last subscription canceled December 2021: did not work. “Promo code error / Promo code could not be applied.” It only offered the standard $14.95/month.
This seems pretty par for the course. Not sure what their criteria is, but deals always seem to work or not work randomly on a per account basis.
I’ve been using ~$16 of P2’s Amex Platinum $20/mo digital credit for a Premium Plus subscription since September 2021. Last month, I discovered serendipitously, and just spent with 5 days to go, a credit before it expired. Nominally, unused credits expire after 12 mos. After researching ( https://www.reddit.com/r/audible/search/?q=restore%20expired%20credits&restrict_sr=1&sr_nsfw= ), came across statement on Audible’s site, “Credits received from an Audible iOS app membership or an Audible Google Play membership ***do not expire***, and will remain in your account after cancellation. Extra credits purchased in the iOS and Google Play apps do not expire either.”
So, I’m trying to figure out:
1) does “from an Audible iOS app membership or an Audible Google Play membership” simply mean any membership bought on said device (vs. at audible.com or amazon.com)?
2) anyway to get this or similar promotion while buying a membership through the app store of an iOS device for P1?
Any help? I don’t see any Audible promotion in the Apple App store.

I took the 3 month free deal around Prime Day and cancelled when that expired in early October. I was able to get this deal.
To be clear $5.95 per month for 4 months, so $23.80 for 4 months.
I’ve edited the post to make that clearer, thanks. First month is the best deal at just $5.95 + the $20 credit
Also, you don’t have to do the whole 4 months. You can just pay $6 for the first month credit and use it, get the $20 and use that and then cancel.
Amazon also introduced a “rewards” program. https://www.audible.com/ep/member-rewards
“For every 3 credits you use, you’ll get a $10 reward coupon and can earn up to 4 coupons.”
So for people who can get 3+ free or discounted months, they should be able to get another $10 on top of everything else.
