Our Verdict
Basically the same offer as the Speedpass offer previously available. Looks like it will work as long as you haven’t had Audible in the last 12 months as well. If you do this deal just keep in mind you will be auto renewed after the free two months, so make sure you remember to cancel otherwise you end up paying $14.95 a month. I actually like Audible, but I don’t go through audiobooks often enough to warrant a membership so I guess I will just try to churn offers like this once a year and get two free books and $10 in Amazon credit.

Gift card was paid exactly two weeks, code sent to my email. Cancelled membership no problem.
I just got an email rejecting me for the GC, even though I met all the terms. Account is a couple years old with many recent purchases and has never subscribed to Audible before.

You may not have qualified for the gift card because:

I clicked on the promo link, and was shown the charge on the first page. I ignored it, as I am eligible for the promo as I had last signed up more than a year ago. However, I was charged 14.95.
I thought I would be eligible since I last signed up 4 years ago but I also got the $14.95 on the first page. I didn’t proceed.

Last night I tried my promo code from the speedpass promo on an item that was only “fulfilled by Amazon” by putting the code into my account and getting to the final step before ordering and it took the $10 off.
So maybe YMMV but my code seemed to work on more than just “shipped and sold by Amazon”.

I and a couple of my family members did the Speedpass offer… only one of the three of us got the GC. I was planning to use the 2wk GC time period as a reminder to cancel the memberships. Needless to say… I got charged for a month. Time goes by faster the older you get. When I was a kid… summer vacation seemed so long. Put it on the calendar as Doc suggests!! John 3:16

Nothing to download — it should just come within 2 weeks.
The link above says “Within two weeks after you download your free trial, a $10 electronic Amazon.com gift card code will be emailed to you” so you just have to sign up

Promo link is working now — won’t work on my account since I did the Speedpass offer.
Household member created a new Amazon account earlier this year and no problem signing up today — they went for the free one month prime trial at the beginning of the month and made purchases using Amex 20% offer
