Update 11/7/19: Available again
The Offer
- Avianca’s LifeMiles program is currently offering a bonus of 155% when you purchase miles. This brings the price down to 1.29¢ per point
The Fine Print
- Limit of 200,000 in point purchases
Our Verdict
You can also buy Avianca miles through a subscription service costing 1.39¢ per mile, this is a better deal than that. Personally I get enough miles through credit card sign up bonuses so I’d never purchase points at 1.35¢ but others might. I’d have a specific redemption in mind if purchasing points. Avianca recently made award chart changes and they are currently having an award sale that I’ll post about shortly.
What’s 150% of zero?
155% available to OMAAT readers
does this work with the avianca discount on the credit card vida/vuela?
What discount do you mean?
Opposite question:
Is it possible to sell Avianca miles somehow?
I have roughly 60k left over there that I have no need for in the forseeable future (and afaik the company isn’t the most stable one financially, so…)
How much you trying to sell it for ?

@ Myro — I obviously don’t make any money when you redeem your miles, and as I clarified in the previous post, I also don’t earn any sort of commission when you buy miles. So nope, it’s not really big business for me.
Interesting! Good to know.
This is not an outright lie but it’s not exactly the whole truth either.
He makes plenty of $$ from them for his posts.
His posts will generate money without a doubt, but it’s quite different the income model from the commissions from miles sold. Therefore, it’s the whole truth regarding specific possible income he was referring to.
It would be the same as DoC generating income from posts on this site.
Agreed, and if you find the content useful or valuable in any way (I certainly do) then why does it matter if they make Google AdSense and such type of revenue?
And further more who cares if he gets a commission? The only way that would be problematic is if there was a better deal you could get otherwise, he knew about it and didn’t disclose that fact. As far as I know that’s not the case here. So everyone can decide if buying miles makes sense for them or not. Who is getting paid and how much they are getting paid really doesn’t matter.
