Update: Website now working again
Currently users navigating to the Avianca LifeMiles website are presented with the following error message:
When calling in loyalty members are told that all reservation and booking systems are currently down and it’s not possible to book new flights or make changes to existing flights.
Hat tip to TPG
Website is back up but when try to purchase ticket its says there are some difficulties processing payment.
I had the same problem today (after 2 days of :maintenance,” tried 3 different credit cards, haven’t gone back to look again.
Problem is not the card but during processing you see a confirmation code. With that you can call them and they sort of make the reservation and you get an email, BUT it is not ticketed until they get the money.
They said they will call back within 3days to process the payment.
and yet they still charge a $25 unavoidable booking fee for the privilege of booking online or over the phone
This should not be a big surprise. They shutdown their website earlier this year in feb for about 5 whole days when the did a major website update. Their website leaves much to be desired. Lets hope they make some good improvements after this shutdown.
This is not a upgrade shutdown. I wouldn’t expect any changes.
Just logged in and it looks like they fixed at least 1 issue where it did not properly display available flight redemption dates. Maybe they fixed more issues.
If the Lifemiles website was designed properly, they should not require 5 day shutdowns to do upgrades or fixes. Obviously, they have major design flaws. Do you see United and AA shutting down their website redemption software for 5 days?
Thanks. It has been going most of Sunday. Noticed it early afternoon.
Hopefully they don’t shut down the whole company
Wouldn’t be surprised. Aren’t they like semi-bankrupt or something? Glad I liquidated they majority of my LM!
