The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Avis is offering 20,000 Etihad Miles when you book a three day or more rental

The Fine Print

  • Reservation Period: From 14 August to 17 August 2022
  • Car Pick-up Period: From 1 September 2022 to 30 November 2022
  • Destinations: USA (excluding Alaska), Canada, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia
  • Eligible Car Groups: Group C and above

Our Verdict

When you expand the terms it does say the eligibility period is ‘2 August 2022, 12:00:01 AM GST to 5 August 2022’ I assume this is some sort of error given the e-mail was sent out after this date. Great deal if you can use the miles and find a cheap enough rental.

Any anyone participated in this promotion actually received the bonus points? I participated in 3 rentals with no bonus points credited to my account yet. It has been more than 6 weeks after completion of my first rental with the promotion. huh?

Checked this for an upcoming 3 day rental in Norway and the Etihad rate is $100 more. Not a bad price to pay for the miles, but I also don’t have a specific use in mind for them so I think I’ll pass.

The cancellation policy is confusing to say the least. First it says ‘free cancellation’ and then in the Terms (a PDF) file, it insists that ‘You Must Pay A Cancellation Fee’ a few times. It’s important because to book, the page requires your credit card number up front.
Buyer beware but myself I won’t trust any such terms.

Can’t make the reservation process after entering my information. Looks like a couple people are having the same issue on reddit. Unable to book with amex or mastercard on either Chrome or Edge. Anyone else having this issue or find a way around it?

I saw this too, but then realized you have to go through the etihad link, can’t use any other AWD. Shoots all the prices up to $200+ for 3 days

Is there any way you can use an AWD code with this?

Did the math. I don’t think it’s worth the effort.

Is there a way to use this offer with your normal avis codes? This is pricing out at 4x the price of my corporate code :/

The same booking via Budget (part of Avis) was ~$200 less for the same dates and airport location for a 6-day rental in late October.
