Our Verdict
I think AA just announced this routing (actually it was different New Zealand routings) and they have been talking about dynamic award pricing, so I’m sure this is a 100% totally legit sale (just don’t book anything non refundable in case they cancel it). Won’t last long.
Hat tip to hamburgers8
Seems dead now, should not have hesitated when I first saw this.
Thanks Doc! Got the tweet and immediately jumped on it (a pain to search on mobile!) and was able to grab a seat down and back at the end of January/beginning of February. At 6’8″, I’m still not sure about it, but got the exit row seat and we’ll see what the upgrade space looks like close to departure for exec plat.
The cheapest fares I am seeing are 27.5k each way and 40k each way from all of the cities listed using the calendar feature from January through March. I guess this is dead.
Same here
cheapest is 33k now.
Can you upgrade to mce on web economy specials?
I have the option to purchase main cabin extra seats for $100+ each.
How big is a chance this will be honored by AA?
I’m wondering if this will be a new trend for new routes. With the recent announcement of nonstop to New Zealand and all the dynamic pricing hoopla, I’m actually starting to believe it wasn’t an error, but more of a first come first serve introduction.
Mine was ticketed. So looking good so far!
Got DFW-LAX-AKL, AKL-LAX-DFW for 12.5k AA + $75
Thanks Doc!
Glad to help
I couldn’t get DFW to search at all. What dates did you book?
Our system is having troubles lol
sad
And I only booked the outbound, can’t book inbound now. Can I cancel within 24 hours?
Jake Yes.
No since hold was an option. Good news is AA may not honor thus you will get a full refund if thats the case.Otherwise is probably cheaper to buy the miles than the cancel fee
There is no relation there. Hold is often an option. AA says tickets are refundable up to 24 hours after purchase https://www.aa.com/i18n/customer-service/faqs/customer-service-faqs.jsp
website is down.
Eroding our can’t get through
Hawaii fares too, seeing some dates at 5K+ between NYC and different islands.
Which ones? Dates?
