The Offer
- Axos Bank is offering a bonus of up to $500 when you open a new rewards checking account and complete the following requirements:
- Use promo code RC500
- An incentive of up to $500 can be earned during the first six (6) statement cycles. You can earn $100 each statement cycle, up to $500 when the following requirements are both met:
- your Rewards Checking account receives qualifying direct deposits at least $1,500.00 in total
- the average daily balance in your Rewards Checking account is at least $3,000
The Fine Print
- To be eligible to earn all or a portion of the cash incentive as part of the promotional offer “RC500,” an application for a Rewards Checking account must be submitted between 06/20/2024 at 12:00 am PT and 07/31/24 at 11:59 pm PT.
- Axos Bank reserves the right to limit each primary account holder to one (1) checking account promotional offer per year. Promotional terms and conditions are subject to change or removal without notice. Incentive may be taxable and reported on IRS Form 1099-MISC. Consult your tax advisor. After initial requirements above are met, the amount of incentive earned will depend on meeting the additional requirements outlined below:
- Rewards Checking bonus up to $500: You must be approved for your new Rewards Checking account and fund it within 60 days of account opening. An incentive of up to $500 can be earned during the first six (6) statement cycles, starting in the statement cycle thirty (30) days after the account is opened. A statement cycle is a calendar month consisting of at least one day your account was open during that month. You can earn a maximum of five (5) payouts during the six (6) statement cycles, and the incentive will be deposited into the qualifying account within 15 business days following the end of the statement cycle in which the requirements were met.
- $100 will be earned for each statement cycle, up to $500, when you meet two requirements during that statement cycle: 1) your Rewards Checking account receives qualifying direct deposits at least $1,500.00 in total, and 2) the average daily balance in your Rewards Checking account is at least $3,000.
- Your Rewards Checking account must remain open and in good standing at the time the incentive is paid to be eligible.
- A direct deposit is an electronic deposit of your paycheck or government benefits, such as Social Security, Disability etc. Other deposits (i.e., online banking transfers, ATM and mobile check deposits, etc.) or person-to-person payments are not considered a direct deposit. Account transactions may take one or more business days from the transaction date to post to the account.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Our Verdict
You can try to stack this with another $150 via Swagbucks but the terms do state it can’t be stacked with other promotions (in the past it has worked though and the terms on those sites specifically mention this code now so it should definitely work). Even better than the $300 bonus recently offered. Annoying that you have to do the direct deposit and minimum balance for so long, but worth it for the $500 bonus. We will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

If my account was opened on the 6/24, then 7, 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 months are redeemable for $100 each?
yes I opened about the same time as you, that’s what happened to me. Got credited my 5th $100 on Dec 1st. Jun
So after getting the last 100, I don’t need the $3000. There ‘s no minimun balace or fee ?
You are correct.
Affinity does not work, despite it showing as DD in the Rewards tracker.
It has been mentioned the DD in Rewards tracker is not the proper indicator for the required DD.
IDK if this is what you meant, but I was actually referring to the actual Rewards (like the higher interest rate).
I still haven’t received interest and the $100 bonus as of 12/2. Does anyone else have the same problem?
Yes, but mine didn’t work this month. Did you actually get your statement? My page notification says they’re working on the statement, but it’s actually already there.
I got the interest and bonus today (12/3).
P1 received monthly $100 bonus and interest on 12/1, whereas P2 received the $100 bonus but not the interest. Don’t really care about the < $2 interest but thought it was kind of strange.
I believe you have to get the deposit in by a certain date to trigger the interest, 25th of the month I believe? P2 must have done it after that timeframe. It happened to me before when I deposited on the 28th of the month.
Ah you’re right, thanks. I forgot about that – cutoff for DDs to earn interest is 25th but that doesn’t apply to the $100 monthly bonus.
P2’s DD posted on the 27th. Mystery solved.
Does anyone know about the Early Termination Fee? I forgot to check when I signed up and I just received my last $100 credit.
From Zed Hed on August 20, 2024 14:54; #1896323
“From Axos terms:
Axos Bank Rewards Checking account must remain open for 210 days, or an early closure fee of up to $500 may apply, equal to the amount of the total bonus earned up to $500”
I just realized that I had not saved this language either (or maybe didn’t see the same as Zed Hed?) and the main post leaves that section blank (which may also explain why I didn’t note it?). Either way, my P1 did a similar bonus for Axos earlier in the year (3 months x $100) and those terms had a 120 day $300 ETF penalty. So Zed’s capture seems to be in line and consistent with earlier bonuses for this bank.
Not sure where that information came from but I just checked the terms from when I opened the account on June 24 and there is nothing in it about an early termination fee nor is there anything mentioned in their current disclosure form about an early termination fee.
In any event, I just closed my account less than 180 days after receiving the last $100 on December 1 (and transferring all of the money out so not sure how they would get the money even if there was a ETF)..
Did anyone do a push that was categorized as Transfer and still get the bonus for that month?
Chase push is categorized as Transfers and I’ve been receiving the bonus including this month.
Thanks!
As of 11/30/2024, my $100 incentive for the November statement cycle is already listed in Transactions as “12/01/2024 CashBack Credit” and is included in my Available Balance.
This brings my cash incentive total to $500. I’ll be withdrawing my $3100+ balance on Monday 12/02/2024 and closing my account as soon as there are no pending transactions.
If I opened my acct in mid-July and got the 1st bonus in September (for August), what do you think the last qualifying month is? I’m hoping that it’s January.
Yes, January. You can only earn $100 monthly incentives in 5 of the 6 months from August 2024 – January 2025.
Thanks!
$100 Bonus posted (Dated 12/1) along with interest. I pushed via Fidelity which has now worked in all 4 months. 1 to go!
I concur with Danny. I have a Fidelity Cash Management account at this time solely for funding Axos. I transferred (pushed) from Fidelity on 11/11 and on Friday 11/29 (dated 12/1?) there was the $100 bonus. This was the only push transaction within 30 days.
2 more months to go for a full cash haul.
$100 cashback credit and interest posted on 12/1. Chase push still works.
Same and also with Chase push.
Can’t edit. Fidelity push, not Chase.
Same, early November Chase push triggered the next $100 on 12/1.
I am really surprised that Chase actually works. Given how picky Axos is and how they have shut down many transfers from other banks as counting. I figured Chase would have been near the top of their list.
