DP:
Transfer from Chase (personal) worked to trigger the first $50

Terms only require “Direct Deposit via ACH”, so I imagine any ACH transfer should work.

Stupid Ass Question.

Military ID, DD-214, VA Card, Orders. They’re are plenty of ways to verify military status, how about you try to stop getting over on military promotions. The deal is shit anyways, since it takes a year to mature the $250.

Agreed this deal is shit. I would avoid just because of that. But it is not like someone taking advantage (without fraud) of a deal targeted at mil folks is being disrespectful to mil personnel. I think that is a bit of a tribal/protectionist way to view this, also seems close to boot licking banks.

This bank is not the military. They actually target the military, and then give them shit deals.. so IMO this bank is kind of being disrespectful.

Guy above was just trying to get some money out of a bank. Maybe he has a family member or whatever that would get him qualified. If he is not military and succeeds, who cares? He did not disrespect the military.

I hear where he’s coming from, but yeah I find it ironic to be moralizing in the DoC community. While legal, it’s still sort of a fraudulent thing what we’re doing

They use SheerID online… it’s similar to ID.me & GovX. Private companies that the govt entrusts with servicemember data. In person, they would look at your ID, DD 214, etc.

I talked about the signup process over here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/contact-us/#comment-1884305

I would have signed up, but the OOS killed it for me.

I was in the Texas State Guard. Do you know if it would be considered military service because I was never provided a DD-214 when I was discharged.

I don’t know. “Reservist or National Guard” is listed. The website asks for your DOB, discharge date… fill it our and see what happens. This is done right away, before the application for the actual account. eman
