The Offer
- Arizona Central Credit Union is offering a savings bonus of up to $1,000:
The Fine Print
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fees to worry about
Early Account Termination Fee
Wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if there is an early account termination fee or not.
Our Verdict
Can’t really find any terms (unless I’m going blind), it doesn’t mention any deposit length or anything like that. This has the potential to be a lucrative promotion, but there is the hard pull to worry about and lack of terms. If anybody finds out more information then please share it in the comments below. Arizona Central Credit Union also has a $200 checking bonus.

Just called and the CSR informed me this is a 9 month CD yielding 0.9% per annum.
Can’t open online, must open in branch?
HP, ugh.
It’s a nice bonus, but it will depend on how long you have to maintain the assets in the account to see if it’s a good overall deal. The highest APY they provide is 0.75% and that’s for money market accounts, their savings seem to max out at 0.05%. One MAY be able to join by reporting their religion as one of 3, Roman Catholic, Baptist or LDS / Morman. I say “MAY” because as William reported in this post, the rules are not laid out with any detail and it seems possible you could join the CU but not qualify for the above promotion because of ones location.
Best bonus I have seen in a while…
I am not able to find any information about this bank being Member of FDIC ?
It would be NCUA. Is this AZ only ?
Yes, AZ residents only.. And it’s no longer a HP on EQ, it’s a SP on EX. And they are Chex sensitive.
Credit unions are NCUA-insured, not FDIC.
Deposit $100,000 for one week and Be Gone the next day is quite the return.
