Hat tip to reader newguy
This app is a scam now, unless you like solving 15+ puzzles every time you want to access your account.
What are the odds Bakkt goes under too?
way higher than they would admit.
They’ve probably been looking for a buyer. I just don’t know what good this app is for…

Read that Coinbase sells all transaction info and corresponding geo-location data to any and all buyers (including totalitarian-wannabe governments).
Is there a hidden Bakkt SUB to join with for the uninitiated? All I can see is a $5 one.
Not currently.
I joined when Swagbucks Live was giving $90 or $100 to join a while back but that deal is long gone.
Looks like this offer has been extended – Offer begins on June 15, 2022, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on July 6, 2022.

Still active, instant $13.07 profit
Bakkt previously had instant cash deposits for up to $50, but they seem to have removed that. Now it says my deposit will take 3-5 days (doesn’t let me buy bitcoin until the deposit settles). At this point, if it takes more than 3 business days, it won’t be possible to buy before this offer expires. Also, the terms say “limited to the first 100,000 customers”.
I happened to have about $51 of bitcoin there already, so I sold that, bought it back, and the bonus $15 posted.
BTC is even more volatile right now than usual and your $15 (or less with the spread) could easily get wiped out with a drop in price. Not worth it.
I’m more of a buy low, sell high type of guy. Sounds like you’re a buy high or don’t buy at all type.
You could sell immediately after buying. If you’re just buying $50, the price would need to drop by over 20% to wipe out the $15 bonus; that’s not going to happen in the 1 minute between your trades.
For those curious, they say no “fee” but charge a trading spread…a bit disingenuous to say no fees IMO. Looks to be about 1.5% of each trade. So 0.75 when you buy $50 and then another 0.98 when you sell the $65. Still a quick money maker even if you eat about $2 in fee/spread.
Am I able to transfer to a cold wallet?
Short answer: no.
