Update 4/4/20: This is now available via referral links. You can find and share your referral links in this linked post. DO NOT share them in the comments below.
Update 3/20/20: The old link had stopped working, but now NerdWallet is offering the same bonus. I’ve updated the link below and tried to strip as much of the affiliate information for NerdWallet as possible but they still might get a commission when this link is used (we don’t have any relationship with NerdWallet)
Update 2/3/20: Some people received targeted e-mails about this today. Just a friendly reminder this is available to everybody with the link below.
Update 7/3/19: Deal is still available, updated the link.

- 1x miles on all other purchases
- They will sometimes approve you for a Platinum Plus Visa or Preferred Visa card which has different annual fees and sign up bonus
- Free checked bag for you and up to six other passengers on your reservation

Our Verdict
Previous best offer on this card was either 40,000 miles or 30,000 miles + $100. It is worth noting that this 40,000 mile + $100 offer deal comes with the companion fare of $99 rather than the $0 fare those other offers came with, so essentially the same offer if you had planned to take advantage of that companion fare. If you don’t then this offer is $100/10,000 miles better than the previous best offer on this card. Overall I think this is a very strong offer if you value Alaska miles and I’ll be adding this to the best credit card sign up bonuses. Before applying for this or any other Bank of America card, I’d recommend reading this post detailing everything you should know about their credit cards. There is also a bonus of 40,000 miles on the business version of this card, if anybody finds a link with the $100 statement credit as well let us know.

not sure if the offer expired or not. Tried the link and the referral links, i kept getting the following error: “Your Credit Card Application
This credit card application is currently unavailable. We apologize. Please try again later, or call 800.551.0839.”
unfortunately, the only place I found this offer easily available still was through the points guy website…

I am having the Alaska card now, but applied the same card again yesterday since I am not familiar with BoA and didn’t notice the rule that “This card will not be available to you if you currently have or have had the card in the preceding 24 month period. This does not apply to the business credit card product.”.
However, I got approved, but I am not sure what I should do now. Will the card be closed some time by BoA? Or should I contact the customer service to close it? Or it’s okay to keep it, but I will not get the welcome offer miles?
Thanks for any similar DP and any advice.
I would keep it and since the min spend on it not as high (I think $2K) I would also made it in hopes to get a bonus. I would not be surprised if BofA’s system just lets it through… I do not see the point of closing it right now. It probably still going to be on your CR, and if you had a hard pull, it is not going away either.
Do you get the card number/expiration instantly upon approval?
Called to close this card, but got a retention offer: spend $1500 in 3 months and get $100 statement credit. But to my surprise that the CS told me that I can spend $1500 on any of my BoA credit cards, not necessarily on this Alaska Airlines card.
Got that same offer, and was also allowed to PC to cash rewards while also keeping the 1500/100 offer. Rep did specify that only BoA personal cards work for the offer though, not biz.
Just had the same thing happen today. I opted to close my personal Alaska card since I can use my premium rewards card to get this credit.
I wonder how this stacks with the $50 statement credit on the premium rewards for grocery/dining. I’m gonna have to play it safe and spend 1550.

William Charles this link is dead
Chuck William Charles When does the $100 statement credit gets credited? On 1st purchase or after meeting sign up bonus requirements?
The shopping cart offer at Alaska is for 30,000 miles + $200 statement credit with 2k spend in 90 days.
Got that here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/bank-of-america-alaska-30000-miles-200-statement-credit/
For the referral this credit card, is the referral 5,000 miles per approved referral, or 5,000 miles referral bonus in total per referrer? Thanks.
