Card earns at the following rate:

*(for the first $2,500 in combined grocery, wholesale, and gas purchases each quarter)

Our Verdict

You can read our full review of this card here. Bank of America have frequently offered sign up bonuses of $200 on this card, so my suggestion would be to wait for one of those. Bank of America does combine inquiries so some people might be interested in this due to the new increased Alaska offer but Bank of America have been much stricter about this recently (and limited some people to four BofA cards total) so keep that in mind. As always make sure you read these things everybody should know about Bank of America cards before applying. A full list of the best cash sign up bonuses can be found here.

“You also get a 10% increase on the sign up bonus if you have a Bank of America checking account.”

So does this mean that someone who has Preferred status with them will get a 25%, 50%, 75% increase on the sign up bonus?

Yes, it means that. The signup bonus is given as rewards dollars. If you redeem it to a BofA checking, you get 10% / 25% / 50% / 75% bonus on the redeemed value, based on the preferred status. Even more, you don’t have to have preferred status *now*, but rather when you redeem it.

Yes it’s been on my offers tab for a few weeks now. Also appears once I log off. I tried copying/pasting that link in a new browser but it just takes me back to the login page.

I see your list mentions BOA cards are churnable: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/list-of-churnable-credit-cards/#Bank_of_America

Does this mean j can close the one I opened for the bonus years ago, and reapply the same day?

In the recent past, B of A has allowed multiple accounts on the same specific card. Remember the MLB cards last year?
