One of the main limits to signing up for bank account bonuses is the fact that they usually pull your ChexSystems report, this is similar to your credit report that is maintained by Experian/Equifax/TransUnion but tracks deposit accounts instead. Some banks & credit unions won’t allow you to open an account if you have too many new accounts on your Chexsystems report, but not all financial institutions look at your ChexSystems report and these won’t show up. I thought it would be useful to have a dedicated page to this.
The easiest way to find out what financial institutions do/don’t pull your ChexSystems is by requesting a free copy of your report and then comparing that to the accounts you’ve signed up for recently. If you do this, please share your results in the comments.

Was a previous client of HSBC about 7 years ago, rejoined this year with no Chex pull.
Opened University FCU (CA) – No Chex (Seems like an oversight as they tried a month later with Chex frozen, but accounts stayed open). Same with Travis CU.
I applied for Discover Cashback debit, something went wrong in the app and I had to call in, verify, and re-submit. Two inquiries for the day. I forget – do these combine since they are same day?
Normally they will combine to be only one inquiry when done on the same day. Give it a couple days. If it doesn’t happen, submit a dispute.
They might not combine because you applied 2 different ways. I applied for BFB online and in-branch on the same day and there are 2 separate inquiries that did not combine.
These pulled:
Andrews FCU – 3/16/24 – for checking account application, saying couldn’t verify my address
Andrews FCU – 3/21/24 – sent in proof of address, they pulled again, still denied application
Eagle Bank – 4/14 – denied CD application
Ivy Bank (Cambridge Savings Bank) – 4/18 – approved savings account application
Both Andrews & Eagle cited Chex as reason for denial, but my Chex was clear and credit score was top tier. Just some BS for automated incompetence
If they’re not good enough to use human judgement to process applications, they’re not good enough to hold and make money off my money

Associated bank pulled my Chex for my new checking account, 2024/03.
Didn’t pull again when I opened a CD a few weeks later.
Forgot to mention on my last comment – Bank of America did deny a transfer to fund my account an cited Chex as the reason, but did allow me to open the account and deposit a paper check via the mobile app
