Barclays 70,000 Hawaiian Airlines Bonus ($99 Annual Fee)

Update 2/23/25: Here’s a live link (ht Certified3). The other version is still up with 70,000 points after $1,000 spend at this link. (ht InternetStranger) Reports are that you can get both of these cards since they are slightly differing varieties.

Update 2/6/25: There is an offer with no minimum spend requirement (just requires a purchase) but it requires using a flight attendant code. 002387 works. Hat tip to reader Alex

Update 2/5/25: Now requires $1,000 in spend.

Update 9/29/24: Random code doesn’t work, but can use a code that follows this linked format.

Update 8/4/24: Direct Link. Again, any 6-digit code put in the promo code box works.

Update 2/1/24: Offer is back now at the public link (ht C-MontgomeryChurns)

Update 6/2/23: The link below no longer works, and reader Anthony B found a new link – Direct Link. Again, any 6-digit code put in the promo code box works.

The Offer

Direct link to offer (any 4 digit code will work)

Our Verdict

Previous best deal was 80,000 miles, but that required a total of $4,000 in spend. Some popular redemption options include:

  • You can get flights for 35,000 miles round trip with the card from mainland USA to Hawaii. Note, however, there isn’t a lot of space available.
  • Intra island flights are 7,500 miles one way.

We will add this to our best credit card bonus page as it’s so easy to meet the requirements.

Based on the DPs saying “you could have both cards”, is there any way to know which card I had? On my Barclays app, I have a “Hawaiian Airlines Bank of Hawaii Mastercard” in closed status (Oct 2024 closed). So does this mean I had the BOH one, and can apply for the Barclays card + bonus? Or am I SOL?

Thanks in advance.

The BOH card is still there. Just go to the BOH homepage and you will find it. The only change is it adds a 2,000 spending requirement.

Looks like the Barclays card offer has been discontinued as of 3/21. Clicked the link and was met with this: Thank you for your interest in a Hawaiian Airlines® Bank of Hawaii World Elite Mastercard. Unfortunately, this offer has expired.

The non-Barclays card offer still seems to be up. Earn 70,000 miles after spending $1000 within the first 90 days. https://www.getmyhawaiiancard.com/

How long does it take to get the 70k bonus?

If you managed to make your purchase quickly enough so it posts at least a few days before the statement closes, you will get the bonus with the 1st statement. As it closes the points appear in Hawaiian account within a day or so.

Does not depend on you paying the Annual Fee or the first bill.

My experience on the AA card was different: though I had a purchase weeks before statement close, the system did not award me the points cuz I hadn’t yet paid the annual fee.

– 3/18 made $0.50 purchase
– 3/21 70k miles showed on Barclays
Miles not showing on Hawaiian Airlines, however. Does anyone know when they’ll show?

If they don’t give me the additional 70K bonus for the second card, what are the chances they’ll waive the annual fee and just let me close it?

Anyone know the timeline for being able to use the Hawaiian Miles? I just got the BoH Hawaiian card (one purchase to receive 70k miles).

My timeline:
2/28: -$99 Annual Fee
3/5: $99 Payment Received
3/6: $4.75 Coffee

I have an Alaska flight on 3/29 that I would very much like to use miles for. Thank you!

I don’t think you’ll be able to. My points showed up on my cc account soon after my first purchase, but they didn’t transfer to my Hawaiian Air miles account until the day after my statement close date.
I called in and a car said there was no way to expedite the process.
