Our Verdict

Recently this was 70,000 points without the authorized user portion. This is a better offer if you can do the AU bonus, you can see how being added as an AU affects your credit by reading this post. This is probably the best offer on a card with no minimum spend. If you need AA miles in the short term this is a great offer and we will add it to the best credit card bonuses. Read through these things you should know about Barclaycard credit cards before asking any basic questions in the comments.

I had like 7 referrals in JAN but i didn’t get any bonus points, looks like they combined the JAN 24 promotion with the NOV 23 promotion, if i would have known..

Applied for this card and was not approved instantly. Called reconsideration line and they demanded a copy of tax transcript, which is crazy to me. Never been late. Credit score over 800 and never asked for that before. I’ve had credit cards over 40 years and never been asked for tax transcript. Anyway, I faxed a copy of what they wanted and they are still not approving the card. The income on the application matches the transcript. I did not inflate income. They said someone is supposed to call in 48 hours, but I won’t be sending anything else. I don’t need the card that bad.

So they called back and wanted entire transcript, not just the first page. The company lied, saying they only needed the first page. Then, after you give them that, they come back for more. A fishing expedition. I am so angry. They will not be getting any more of my information. I know the points are nice, but this company is s—. Give this card, and all Barclay’s cards, a hard pass.

Thanks for the heads up. On the face of it, looks like a good offer but it’s unreasonable. I had Lafayette Federal Credit Union ask me for my entire tax return once as part of a credit card application. We need to know which companies to avoid.

For those who referred people, how long did the referral bonus hit your account? I referred my gf back in January 26th, she hit the welcome bonus and currently adding me as a AU.

I just saw this in the T&C of this card. Does this mean it is not churnable anymore, similar to AMEX cards.

Does anyone know if it’s possible for me to sign up for this, add my wife (who didn’t take my last name) as an authorized user to get the additional bonus, and also for her to do the same, where she signs up for this herself, and adds me as an authorized user on hers, so we can double up? Given this has no minimum spend requirement and a relatively low annual fee, it appears to be an easy 150k for both of us.

Yes, possible and easy! Just know that if you add eachother then it will show up and count as a card on your CR, therefore taking up slots for other banks like Chase.

If you, however, fumble the names up enough so they don’t match a credit report, you could potentially avoid that. Not advocating to do that, and I don’t know the implications of doing so, but there is no SSN required for barclays AU. I have read small rumors of them double checking AU’s but nothing solid.
