Frontier has announced a new benefit to the Barclays Frontier card with cardmembers now receiving two checked bags for free. Details of the new benefit are as follows:
- Tickets must be purchased from FlyFrontier.com or the Frontier Airlines mobile app
- There is no limit to how many times you can use this benefit
- Free checked bag benefit includes golf and ski equipment
- Primary cardmembers must use their FRONTIER Airlines World Mastercard at booking to unlock the free checked bag benefit
Interestingly the new benefit isn’t being advertised as a benefit yet on the Barclays Frontier landing pages.

It is incompetence. The left hand of Frontier has no clue what the right hand is doing
Are the free checked bags separate from the Elite Gold Member status? Even if one loses that status, do cardholders still get the free checked bags?
This is a very significant change and made this card a no brainer for me. I applied and was instantly approved even though I haven’t had a Barclays card since 2019.
This is the only cost when flying Frontier , if this is waived the flights are dirt cheap, even one flight per year you would end up on the positive side.
Hopefully this will work for in person ticket purchases as well.
Frontier and Spirit , you can save at min. $23 per person per ticket by booking at the airport.
This is a game changer for Frontier IMO. Makes this a keeper card 100%
As someone from Cleveland who now lives in Sarasota this is huge news for family and friends travelling down. I wish this card had a referral fee bc I’ll get like 10+ people to sign up for this card

Frontier has heavily slashed routes to/from Cleveland tho & they might exit altogether
This is where I wish people who have no clue wtf they’re talking about, would just stop talking. Frontier has absolutely no incentive to “exit altogether” Cleveland. They literally just opened a crew base in Cleveland and even after the seasonal route cuts offer 23 non-stops out of CLE. Just such a stupid comment.
There is a pattern why everything from Fruitville to University, from Tamiami to Clark is so crowded these days., constant chaos on 75 yet more and more ppl coming. I wish we go back 20 yrs with 5 flights a day, srq is a living hell now.
