Our Verdict

Previous best offer was 60,000 miles so this is a significant improvement. I assume most readers would have an open airline card but some might not. The issue with Barclays cards is getting approved. You can read these things everybody should know about Barclays cards by clicking here. If you have a use of Frontier miles then I do think this bonus is worth doing, especially with the free bag benefit now. We will add this to our best credit card bonus page.

I discovered the issue that was preventing me from successfully registering for the second bonus 50k — and I suspect it may be the same problem other commenters are experiencing.

Issue: even though I provided my existing Frontier Miles account when I applied for the Mastercard, it appears to have created a new Frontier Miles account + account number for me. Check what Member ID # is in the “Welcome to the Frontier Airlines Mastercard and Frontier Miles” you received after credit card signup.

Solution: I contacted Frontier chat support and was able to get them to merge the new account into my existing Frontier miles account (wanted original number + existing benefits to stay intact). Once they did that, the credit card benefits started showing up on my account and I was able to register for the second 50k bonus miles per the website here.

Good luck!

10K for a reward basic ticket with no bag or seat selection or change that sells cash for $59. A come-on to get you to buy the upgrades which cost the same as on cash.

Anyone have luck to get the frontier website to accept a competitor credit card?
I’ve inputted by Chase United, Chase SW, Amex Delta, however none are working/being accepted.

Wow, basically all negative comments. Has anybody successfully completed both the second step for 50k miles AND received status for 2 checked bags?

Was just instantly approved at 5/24, this is my 3rd Barclays card in under a year. Cobrand validator tool didn’t work immediately, but I’ll try again once I receive my card. I have Citi Business AA and personal Chase Southwest to try.

Also, my terms were slightly different:

$99 annual fee, not waived first year90 days of Frontier Elite Gold “instantly after your first purchase posts”. This turns into an additional 12 months of Elite Gold after $3000 spend in 90 days (would be included if you also plan to spend $3000 for the cobrand 50k bonus; includes free seat selection, Zone 1 boarding, and free carryon bag)$100 flight voucher issued after BOTH your first purchase AND paying the annual fee. Issued 6-8 weeks after both criteria are met. This seems separate from the $100 voucher for spending $2500 in a cardmember yearSo $10 more for quite a bit of perks.

I still cannot register for the 50k cobrand bonus at https://card.loyaltystatus.com/frontier/. I also made my first purchase in order to activate Gold (terms below) a week ago and it still hasn’t activated. Frontier says there is no record from there side that I have the card. Barclays says I have to wait 30 days for my first statement to send points over to Frontier for the linkage to happen. Total clusterfuck.

You will earn Instant Elite Gold Status (“Elite Gold”) after your first purchase posts to your account, less credits, returns and adjustments (“Net Purchases”) with a transaction date within the first 90 days of new Card Account opening. Elite Gold will be awarded 3-4 business days after the first Net Purchase posts

Agree Andy, I reached out to Frontier Airlines customer service. It’s been a back and forth over 6 messages over last several weeks, still no solution. Barclays is not even trying either and pointing the finger back to Frontiers.

The eligibility site doesn’t seem to work for me now. Nothing happens when I enter the Frontier FF number, check the box below and click the “Check Eligibility” button – tried different browsers. Upon inspecting, seems to throw a 500 – Internal server error on Button click.

I also thought it wasn’t working, but if you still enter the first six of your other card in the blurred out section then it will move onto the next step to add the full details of your card. Even after that part I got another but the $1 charge was still made to my card so I’m guessing that means it worked!

Just as a follow-up to my post below: The eligibility site seems to be working now, I was just able to step all the way through and got a confirmation that I’ll get 50k more points after I spend $3000.

Side note: the card I used for eligibility check was the business AA card, if that helps anyone.

I would recommend everyone who’s trying to verify eligibility & getting errors: CONTACT Frontier!!!! I reached out via the Chat function on the application/promotion page and they called back – basically claiming this promotion is no longer active. I tried explaining to them that I received an email offering the extra 50k points, and the expiration date for the match is 3/14/2025. They gave me every excuse in the book (“that is a separate promotion”, “you are not eligible for this particular promotion”, “this offer is not on the front page of flyfrontier.com and is therefore invalid”, etc.) despite the fact that the email they sent after I was approved invited me to earn the extra 50k and explicitly states this offer is in addition to any other bonuses…. I kept escalating until they put in a ticket for their “back end team” to look into it and figure out why it’s saying my Frontier Miles account is ineligible.

tldr: Frontier is either completly clueless about this promotion, or they are trying to renege on their offer. Call and let them know how you feel.

Applied 12/18, received card yesterday (12/27). I confirmed that Barclay has the correct Frontier Miles # (the card shows up on my Frontier profile). I’ve been trying the eligibility site for the past few days, it just keeps telling me I’m not eligible. I’ve made a small purchase on the card and will try again once it posts. If that doesn’t work I’m out of ideas…

Very helpful DPs and comments – thank you. I was also wondering how I could validate if the correct FF number was associated but the Barclays site doesn’t display Frontier FF number and showed 0 points. The trick, like you mentioned, is to login to Frontier and look for the CC instead.

Oh boy – stay away from this promo. I signed up and it won’t let me register and I am not getting my Frontier status. After being on hours of customer service calls from Barclays and Frontier they each blame each other. Sigh….
