Our Verdict
Not as good as the 100,000 point bonus, but better than the 60,000 point bonus. Personally I’d probably wait to see if the 100,000 point will return. JetBlue award flight prices are linked to the cash price of a ticket, much like Southwest. If you have any questions about Barclays credit cards, read this post first.
With the new AA partnership all of a sudden JetBlue miles are a lot more appealing to me…
Can the points be redeemed for statement credit and if so how much is 70k worth?
No where to put membership number ?!
Heads up. When it comes to JetBlue cc spend, the day of the transaction is the day it counts, not the day it posts and not the day the statement closes. I found out the hard way by paying my tax bill last year on 12 31 2020 at 10pm. I assumed it would post in ’21 so count towards ’21 spend, and that I’d be well on my way to $50k spend to get Mosaic. Nope, it posted same day transaction occurred – 12 31 202.
Why would you not have just waited 2 more hours? There was no advantage to paying it in 2020
JetBluePlus is the only Barclays card I have. So I know based on the Barclays DoC info page that they are churnable but potentially hard to get approved.
Anyone have experience downgrading the JBP to a regualr JB card and then 6 months later applying for the JBP again for the SUB?
I think you cannot have the JBP and the JB at the same time, I remember closing the regular JB to get the JBP (but you can have personal and business)
In speaking with a rep, You can only downgrade when the offer is available on your account otherwise, you have to close. The rep didnt know what would trigger or how to get the offer to show on the account.
Thanks TKB and Arnaud – I’m planning on buying a house next year so trying to really limit my churns and don’t want to close any cards until that’s all over so I guess I’ll just stick with the JBP card for now unless I get an offer to downgrade.
Or do I need to call to check if my account is eligible for the downgrade?
Yea, Call and see if you have any offers to downgrade.
Does Barclays have any known velocity rules or limits on getting personal and business card of same product? I picked up the Jetblue Biz card last week and now thinking about the personal version as well given the elevated bonus. I have 2 TU inquiries in 2 months (one for Jetblue biz), and only 1/24 for new CCs otherwise.
During the 100k signup bonuses, my P2 was approved for both biz & plus on the same day; 3/24; not sure on inquiries
thats awesome congrats
Is 100k gonna come back anytime soon though?
Nobody knows for sure
T&C: This one-time offer is valid for eligible cardmembers. You may not be eligible for this offer if you currently have or previously had an account with us in this program.
Is this enforced?
The 100k point offer on the Jetblue Plus card was a much better offer than 70k.
Anyone know the cash value of 70k and 100k ?
700 and 1000, give or take
It can vary based on the redemption, but on average 70K = $910 towards flights and 100K = $1,300.
whats the cash value for credit if not using it towards flight?
