Barclays Now Allowing Cardholders To Submit Credit Card Disputes Online

Barclays has announced that cardholders can now dispute transactions online without needing to call in. The official statement as follows:

Customers are now able to submit a dispute through their online account.  If you need to dispute a transaction related to disrupted travel or event plans, please reach out first to the merchant to understand their cancellation policies – you may get it resolved faster by speaking directly to the merchant.

If you are unable to resolve the matter with the merchant, click here to log on to your account and submit a dispute through the online form. You may also mail your dispute to Card Services, P.O. Box 8802, Wilmington, DE 19899-8802.

Business cardmembers can initiate a dispute by logging on to the website URL listed on the back of your card, by calling us, or mailing your dispute to Business Card Services, Billing Disputes P.O. Box 84030, Columbus, GA 31908-4030.

I personally think it makes more sense for disputes to always be done online as evidence can easily be attached to the original complaint (e.g flight cancellation e-mail).

Ive been in dispute of two charges from amazon which refuses to refund me even though I have proof they received items back in their warehouse which has led me to dispute thru my barclays credit card. Cant get anywhere with them even though I mailed several letters including proof of shipping info. The philipines customer service is terrible! Its almost been a year now & still not resolved!

I have refused to accept my Barclay’s AARP Credit Card. Yet in paying “carry-over” transactions, I have a disputed item. How can I get this resolved?

Rented a cabin for 3 nites and stayed only 2 and was told I would receive 1 nite credit, but that didn’t happen so I disputed with Barclay’s. After talking with Barclay’s I received letter saying “we are unable to assist you” so I called back and was told to write a letter and include pictures of cabin which I did , and received letter once again saying u able to assist. If charged 3 nites and only stayed 2, and merchant doesn’t respond I would think Barclay’s should have my back. Hours on letter from Barclay’s indicates 7 to 11 M-F and 8-8 on weekends since 1st letter to last letter. Turns our hour’s are 8 to 5 Monday-Friday only.

I had to file two or three disputes with Barclay’s recently. All resolved in my favor thank G-d!

One dispute with Chase, I could not get through. The merchant had a voicemail. I left a message. A week later they called me and refunded the money. I called Chase many times however I could not wait two hours on hold.

Trying to reach Barclay’s dispute people, I’ve had to wait at least a half hour “3 times” and the problem dispute is STILL NOT RESOLVED.

This is nice. Now I wish other banks who don’t have specifically Bank of America would do something about chat or email or some kind of messaging. It takes forever to get connected to a representative if you can get connected even before COVID-19 outbreak. I’ve called three times in early January to cancel a card and never got connected once to a representative after a minimum of 15 minutes waiting.

And somehow Chase still can’t dispute fraud charges online… 5 hours on the phone today for a stolen card, plus THREE disconnects.

I don’t know what you are talking about. Just click on the transaction and there is “Dispute transaction” right under it.

Maybe OP means the follow-up calls? Higher-dollar transactions sometimes trigger an interview for clarification, etc. even if you initiate the dispute online.
